Causes of lack knowledge of environmental law, classification and recycling

of waste in central neighborhoods of San Miguel.

The lack of knowledge about the classification and recycling of waste due to the
ignorance of environmental legislation in the central neighborhoods of San Miguel is
the reason to produce large amounts of waste in an excessive way that continue to
damage the environment.
Statement of the problem.
San Miguel is well known city in our country because of its famous carnival and to
be the biggest city in the eastern of the El Salvador, therefore lot of people arrive for
work, pleasure or just sightseeing; people living in the central neighborhoods of the
city for the reasons before, known in the correct way how to classify and recycle
trash also have special trash bins designed to help tourist where deposit each type
of waste in his respective place. Unfortunately, that is not the reality lived in those
central neighborhoods of San Miguel, because people unknow about the
environmental law of our country and consequently unknow how classify and recycle
trash, hence the Mayor’s office does not provide the ideal trash bins designed to
classify the waste as part of its responsibility to contribute to care the environment.
Taking this in mind is prevailing to awareness those people about the importance of
know the environmental law of our country and the relevance to classify and recycle
garbage, also provide the necessary instruments to make this as a part of our culture
and in this way help our environment.
Overall objective:
To investigate the causes of lack knowledge of environmental law of El Salvador and
the classification and recycling culture in central neighborhoods of San Miguel.
Specific objectives:
 To determinate the types of classifying and recycling methods to collect
garbage that people have.
 Promote technical tools and control mechanisms that contribute to improving
environmental management.
 Provide efficient information to implement the culture of recycling and
sorting of garbage.
 To identify the awareness that Mayor’s office provides to care the
environment.
