Partial Solar Eclipse- December 26, 2019

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly
obscuring the Sun for a viewer on Earth. The eclipse will be visible from all over Pakistan.

It is the third and the last solar eclipse occurred in the year 2019 worldwide. However, it is the only
visible solar eclipse for this year in Pakistan. It was Jan 11, 2011 when the last time a partial solar eclipse
occurred in Pakistan. The only solar eclipse for next year will occur in Jun 2020.

The duration of this eclipse is 2 hours 29 minutes. The central path of the eclipse (annularity) will pass
through Saudi Arabian Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo, Philippines and Guam. A partial eclipse is visible
thousands of kilometers wide from the central path. It will cover small parts of Eastern Europe, much of
Asia, North/West Australia, East in Africa, Pacific and Indian Ocean. Following table is showing the start
and end timings of the eclipse in Pakistan.
