Some more information which usually we find after joining PIEAS, But we think you

should know this.

=> The Organization that you are about to JOIN, is not PIEAS its PAEC (Pakistan
Atomic Energy Commission)
It is the most blessed, progressing , highly respected organization with a
fascianted developing history.
You will feel honored once you will get here :-)
As it is the best organization which is actually the safety head of Pakistan and it
totally is on merit.

=> Most of you guys may already know that there will be ZERO semester which has the
same importance as the interview or test have means failing it means you are
knocked out.
(Usually about 5% are eliminated and most those are who really wanna leave PIEAS
that's why they don't perform well)

=> In the zeroth semester, you will be asked to give Preference in which field you
wanna go.
(e.g. Chemical Engineers will generally prefer Process Engineering over Nuclear
Engineering)
But there are always fixed number of seats for a particular discipline. Like Last
year 53 chemical engineers were selected, 35 were needed in Process Engineering,
and almost 20 were needed in Nuclear engineering. So they had to put some of those
(who prefered Process Engineering) into Nuclear Engineering. It depends less on
your merit in final list but more on your luck. (Don't worry, everything happens
for a reason :) )

Further field selection details you can ask when you get selected :) We will

=> No Relative Grading. Just absolute grading system

=> If you score less than 2.67 in a semester, they cut a fraction of your stipend
till next whole semester, if you take GPA more than 2.67 in the next semester, you
will get your money back.

=> If you GPA will be less than 2.67 in two consecutive semesters it means you are
knocked out.

=> Career prospects are very bright after this fellowship. Many plants, labs,
hospitals, offices are present in many big cities. Cities where PAEC is working
are:Chashma (Mianwali) , Jauharabad (Khushab), Kundian, DG Khan, Karachi, Lahore,
Islamabad and a few others.

=> A little bit of information about PIEAS. If you are coming from a university
like UET, PU, UOS, QAU etc... PIEAS will be a shocker for you :-P as it was for me.

No doubt the level of study and the system of education here is the best which
Pakistan has.
But with pros , there always are some cons too.

Pieas is located far away from Islamabad and Rawalpindi (about 40-50 minutes
travel)
Forget SSC UC Extention Lalazar :p
and Also the Jannat Road :p :p (Yeah, I am talking to my UETIAN guys :p )
Aap bs is baat se andaaza laga lo, you would be having stipend. but you wont be
having anything to spend on :p
Kharcha nai hota hy yahan :p

Conclusion: PAEC bht achi opputunity hai aur nuclear ki field one of the highest
paying hai but yahan ate waqat apni kashtian jala k na ana
