Thai Sweet Chili Sauce

Welcome back to our channel The Hasan Video.

Today we’re going to share an easy-peasy recipe called by: “Thai


Sweet Chili Sauce”.
It’s so easy to make and fail-safe warranted.

But this one is so special.


It’s perfect to be served with any kind of Indonesian fritter or snacks.
And for various Dimsum and Dumplings, Fried Meatballs, and various
Indonesian fritter.

Hmmm …

This sauce is great, it’s unquestionably tasty …


And it’s not the same with the factory-made ones. ‘Coz this one is
healthier since it’s free of preservatives and artificial coloring.

Ingredient and Direction


Today ingredients are:

100 gr or 6 tbsp. of Granulated Sugar.


Cook the sugar on medium heat until it melts and becomes caramel.
Stir it to melt faster and more evenly.

Once it’s well melted, prepare 400 ml or 2 cups of hot water.


Then pour the water little by little.
Don’t pour the water all at once …
Please keep a 100 ml water for later use.

Well Guys …
Cook it until perfectly melt.

Now add the coarsely chopped spices, it’s a mix of roughly chopped 10
Cayenne and 2 cloves of Garlic.

OK.
Add it up …
Cook it until you can smell its garlic aroma and get rid of its raw smell.

Next add 2 tbsp. of Tomato sauce.


Then 2 tbsp. of Chili sauce.
1 tbsp. Sesame oil.
¼ tsp. Salt and ½ tsp. Broth powder.
Mix well, then add the previous remains of 100 ml Water.
Bring it to boil.
Then add 1 tbsp. of Vinegar, or you may replace it with lime or lemon
juice.

And finally, put in the Corn-starch Solution.


This is 1 tbsp. of Corn starch dissolved in to ¼ cup of Water, stir well.
Pour it in.
Stir it evenly and bring it to boil.
Don’t forget to test it out, make sure its sourness, saltiness and its
sweetness are fits in to your taste.

OK.
When it outbursts as this way, turn off the stove.

Lift it up and strain the chili sauce.

Done …!

BTW, for the chili texture is up to your taste.


Its thickness is adjusted to your taste.
Look, this was made on the other day and its texture isn’t that thick.

And sometimes, I deliberately keep the chili seeds to get an extra spicy
taste.

For the amount of Chili, please don't stuck on 10 pieces.


If you love spicy, feel free to add more.
And if you prefer a lighter spicy taste, please reduce the amount of the
chili.
It also goes with the dose of Sugar, Salt and Garlic.
In short, feel free to adjust those ingredients according to your
personal taste.
Sure it doesn't have to be the same as on this recipe.

But the technique in this recipe must be strictly followed.


Especially the technique in the making of caramel from sugar.
That’s the key point to get the extraordinary tasty Thai Sweet Chili
Sauce.

By the way, for the making of caramel, even it looks easy at first
glance. But it's in fact a bit tricky, make sure the sugar is perfectly
melted and use medium heat while stirring.

‘Coz when the heat is too low, the sugar will be hard to melt and prone
to be solidified, and on the high heat, the sugar will burn and of course
the caramel becomes bitter.

So, be sure to stay at medium heat while keep on eye and keep stirring
it.

Once it’s perfectly melted, pour the water into it right away and reduce
the heat.

This way we can get the best quality of caramel.

To last longer …
Once it cools, pack the chili sauce in a plastic bottle, tightly wrap it up,
then store in the refrigerator so it can last up to 12-15 days.

At room temperature, since it has no preservatives, it can only last


about 2-3 days.

# Thai Sweet Chili Sauce

## Ingredients

* 10 Cayenne, roughly chopped

* 2 cloves of Garlic, roughly mashed


* 100 gr or 6 tbsp. Granulated Sugar, for the caramel
* ¼ tsp. Salt, up to taste
* ½ tsp. Broth powder
* 2 tbsp. of Tomato sauce
* 2 tbsp. of Chili sauce
* 1 tbsp. Sesame oil
* 1 tbsp. Cornstarch, dissolved into ¼ cup of hot water
* 1 tbsp. Vinegar, adjust its sourness up to your taste
* 400 ml of Water (adjusted to your desired thickness)
