H-Energy – JETTY Project Inception Report

Team MCPL visited H-Energy’s site in Kukrahati, Kolkata on

25/9/2019 along with Team H-Energy.
 Full plot – 6.3m approx above MSL (approx 3m filling – need to propose
retaining structure around boundary wall)
 530 m shore line on which shore protection system detail design needs to be
submitted
 High tide line ends at about 5.9m where we need to start protective layer
 Material for filling, shore protection & boundary retaining structure – need
detailed design drawings
 Onshore additional loads – Buildings, Load of materials from L & G ships,
Road load, Moving loads. NOTE : Tanks will be on pile, truck data sent
(need to procure loads)
 Shore protection – 15 to 30m wide
 Correction - add 282 m on level to get chart datum
 Chart datum better as marine facilities will automatically get taken care of
 Road to shore length – 400 m
 Sheet pile + boulders for slope tide protection plausible?
 Retaining structure upto 9m approx (filling depth), above which wall will
only act as boundary wall
 EPC contractor who will come later will break/make boundary wall if
required
 CSV – Global / Jet co-ordinates – soft copy required by MCPL
 Good bearing sand only below 60m
 Local source for sandy clay? Same for murrum
 Make cost comparisons of all potential materials
 Fly ash – easily available (cheap & available  20 Km / 55 Km) (bottom bed
ash is preferred)
  500 x 480 x 2.5  5,00,000 m3 of filling
 Have to level ground first (prevents differential settlement)
 Surveyor assessment – Removal of trees / shrubs / vegetation/ Chimney
demolition
 Road & drain will be all around boundary wall (can this help in reducing
retention surcharge?)
 Building plinth level w.r.t. outside road level ? (even 40 to 50 cm makes a
big difference.)
 Localized strengthening is possible in case load is higher in certain areas
 Kick off meeting required
