A. General Generate information that prepare learners the safety tips before, during and after an earthquake
B. Specific a. Determine possible means and safety tips needed in preparation before, during and after an
earthquake
b. Equip learners with the skills relevant to assisting and rescuing during an earthquake
c. Manifest understanding and knowhow of the skills on the safety measures learned
II. Content: Safety Tips : Before, during, and after an earthquake

III. Learning Resources: Disaster Management an Informative Guide to Managing and Surviving Disasters
IV. Procedures:

A. Reviewing previous lesson or The teacher presents a power point presentation of The Valley Fault in Greater Manila ATLAS by
presenting the new lesson NDRRMC Note: Slides 1 to 31 only
B. System in Establishing a Motivation Questions?
purpose for a lesson 1. What do you feel now after watching the power point presentation?
2. What are the different calamities presented?
3. What are the different harmful effects of earthquake?
4. As learners, what should you do in situations like what we have watched a while ago?
Note: Activities may vary such as the ff:
a. The learners may answer orally and the teacher facilitate the discussions.
b. The learners may write on the board their answers and let them explain later.
c. The class can be grouped into five and be given meta cards, pentel pen and manila paper for
them to write answers and let them discuss their answers for five minutes. Then, let the
leader of each group present in front.
C. Presenting examples/instance of The teacher presents EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS GUIDES by PHILVOLCS (during
the new lesson earthquake) ref. Disaster Management and Informative Guide to Managing and surviving Disasters p.

DISCUSSIONS:

D. Discussing new concept/s and 1. The teacher divides the lass into five groups and assign each group to come up with their own
practicing new skill #1 plan in preparation for THE BIG ONE. The students should be reminded that their plans should
be based on actual classroom or school situations.
2. After eight minutes, each group will present and simulate their outputs. (5 minutes will be given
for each group.
