Income tax Department will credit your refund directly to the bank
account only if the bank account is seeded with PAN of taxpayer.
Further, for refunds above particular threshold the name of taxpayer
as per bank account and Name as per Income Tax Database should
match.
You can check if your bank account is already validated for PAN linkage
by logging on your efiling account in www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
and by selecting the "pre-validate your bank account" option under the
"profile setting" section.
e If your PAN is not seeded in your bank account, the first thing you need
to do is to ensure that the bank account is updated with your PAN.
This can be done in Three ways — (processes may vary slightly from
bank to bank):

» Option 2- Visiting Bank Branch.
> Option 3- Calling Bank on their toll free number.

such as your PAN card number, DOB on your PAN card, and also
your registered email ID and submit.

After verification of your submission, bank will link your PAN to
your bank account within the specified timeline.

Request to Link PAN
GESSEED You need to convey the customer care executive that you want to
link PAN Card with your Bank Account.

9 Provide your bank account number and other required details to
help the customer service executive to verify your identity.
Link your PAN
GEESE Give the customer care executive your PAN for updation. After
verification of your details, bank will link your PAN to your bank
account within the specified timeline.

GESEED You will be redirected to the e-filing website of the income tax

Your Bank Account will be treated as validated and ready for ECS
credit of any refund due.

6 Once action in Step 4 is completed the bank account which is validated
will be displayed to taxpayer in E-filing account. This service can be
accessed by logging in to the Income Tax Department's e-filing website
by selecting the "pre-validate your bank account" option under the
"profile setting" section, as under:
