ESSENTIAL HOLIDAY INFORMATION

WarwickSnow
Mayrhofen, Austria
10-18th December 2010

Thank-you for booking onto the Christmas Tour 2010 and welcome to one of the most
unique alpine experiences available!!! Here at Outgoing we have worked hard to create an
incredible week for you that incorporates all the essential ingredients required for the
perfect university snowsports tour. You’ll be skiing in one of Austria’s premier resorts, whilst
staying in stunning accommodation with an amazing après schedule and world class DJ
talent to keep moving off the slopes. But before we can entertain you on and off the piste
we ask that you read all the following information very carefully as it contains essential
information on your trip plus the travel schedule and pick up times.

OUTBOUND TRAVEL

Please ensure that you are at your pick up point at the stated ‘Arrival: Loading’ time. Drivers
will aim to leave promptly after the coach is loaded; this could be before the published
‘Depart by’ time if the coach is loaded. The ‘Depart by’ time is the very latest that the coach
will leave. We cannot be held responsible for passengers who are late; the driver has a
schedule to keep and your travel date is during one of the busiest periods of the year on the
Motorway.

Please ensure you have left us with a valid mobile number, if you are not at the pickup point
on time we will try and contact you.

CARRIAGE

If you are taking your own equipment please make sure you pack your equipment as
compactly as possible. If you are taking a snowboard please take your bindings off your
board and pack flat. If you are taking your own equipment this must have been pre-booked
with Outgoing by sending an email to simon.bleasdale@outgoing.co.uk

LUGGAGE POLICY

Passengers should bring no more than ONE bag or suitcase per person which will be put in
the luggage hold and 1 piece of small hand luggage can be taken onboard. This item of
luggage should weigh no more than 20kg, and hand luggage 5kg. If passengers bring more
luggage than this stated amount we have the right to refuse the luggage onboard.
Hard cases also take up more room and weigh more, so please be aware of the restrictions.
Please ensure that you keep essential items such as passports, visas, medicine and wallets in
your hand luggage as you will not be able to access your luggage in the hold until the coach
has reached its final destination.
WHAT TO BRING

Essential Items:

 Passport
 Visa (if required)
 Personal Toiletries
 Sun block or sun cream
 Euros
 Ski and Snowboard Clothing
 Fancy Dress!

Please note that if you or any members of your group require a visa to enter Austria it is
your own responsibility to organise this.

If you have never been on a ski or snowboard holiday before, remember that you will need
the appropriate clothing and accessories such as hats, gloves, glasses or goggles and
waterproof jacket and trousers. It is advisable to bring warm comfortable clothing to wear
under your ski clothes; layers keep you the warmest.

COACHES

Smoking is prohibited on our coaches, regular stops will be made so passengers can have the
opportunities to smoke or alternatively get some fresh air. You will be allowed to bring food
and drink on board but please be considerate of others and do not make a mess. Please put
all rubbish in the bins and avoid spillages as all damage must be paid for.

Please remember it is illegal to drink alcohol on coaches in Europe.

Our coaches have DVDs (normally) or video players onboard; please feel free to bring films
with you. There are also toilets onboard, but for the comfort of all passengers please think
about the volume of liquid you consume and bear in mind that the toilets are not suitable
for solids or sanitary products!

Please be considerate of other passengers throughout the journey, whilst we understand

people will be in high spirits and excited about the trip we do ask that people to respect the
wishes of the coach drivers and consider other passengers comfort.

REPS

These seasoned snow gods will lead you from the mundane greyness of (Great) Britain all
the way to the snow-capped peaks of the Austrian Alps. They will be your first point of
contact throughout the week and will be on hand to guide you round the mountain and
bars. Please do not hesitate to contact our reps if you have any problems or require any help
with anything as they’re a friendly lovable bunch.
CHECK IN

Upon arrival in Mayrhofen coaches will make an initial stop outside the Strass Hotel
(Mayrhofen’s most central hotel), customers will be asked to pick up their welcome packs
from the hotel foyer before being led on foot or boarding the coach again to be driven to
your accommodation – this will depend on distance, however reps will be on hand to advise
which option you should take. Although we are aware that you may want to stretch your
legs, please stay in the vicinity and move quickly so as to ensure this process works without
complication. There will be plenty of time to unwind in your accommodation.

ACCOMMODATION & MEALS

Those on the half-board option, your pre-purchased evening meals will be taken at the Hotel
Strass between 6.30pm and 8.30pm in restaurants I & II. Meal vouchers can ONLY be re-
deemed in these restaurants.

Meals will generally consist of a soup to start, a main course including a vegetarian option, a
desert and Buffet salad bar. Remember that you will be charged for all drinks including
coffee as these items ARE NOT INCLUDED.
It is not possible to purchase meal vouchers in resort.

For those not on the half board option, Mayrhofen is a reasonable sized town with several
super markets / convenience stores and excellent restaurants that are not expensive. Food
and alcohol are generally very reasonably priced. There is also the famous Mayrhofen Grill
house located opposite the Penken lift – offering the perfect post-piste schnitzel in a bun for
about €2. And a few doors up lies Mayrhofen’s pizza shack – selling the legendary 20 incher
(try getting your mouths round that ladies!!)

Please be considerate towards accommodation providers and other guests when drinking in
your rooms. (Austrian apartment owners do not like seeing large amounts of alcohol being
taken up to apartments, please be aware of this and think about how much you take up at
one time).

PLEASE NOTE – use of sheets and body paint for fancy dress is forbidden – you will be
charged and you have been warned!

CHECK OUT

You are responsible for the cleaning of your apartment. Please make sure that everything in
the apartment is clean and tidy and any breakages reported to the reception. Any damage
and cleaning costs incurred will be taken from your damage deposit.

Please return your keys to reception at the end of your stay.

Make sure all bills are settled with the Hotel before your departure.
APRES SKI SCHEDULE

The FULL APRES SKI schedule will be included in your welcome pack. There is something on
every night and a good variation – so there will be something for everyone.

VALLEY RALLY
Whilst racing may not be everyone’s cup of Jägerbomb – WEDNESDAY 15TH OF DECEMBER
will see a triumphant return of the VALLEY RALLY – annual tours’ answer to a weekend in the
Playboy mansion. The only difference being NO saggy old dudes in pyjamas popping Viagra.
It’s one wild afternoon in the Austrian Alps where anything goes!

KING OF THE MOUNTAIN & RACE DAY

Don that lycra and wax down those 2 metre 20 beauts your dad handed down as we
converge upon the top of the Penken lift for an experience like no other. At 12.30pm
THURSDAY 16th DECEMBER, everyone stands in a line at the top of the lift 10 metres away
from their skis/boards and poles. We shout ‘Go’, you have to run forward, slam on your
gear and get to the bottom of the piste the first.
If you’re competitive, it’s not for the faint hearted, if you want a bit of fun and race your
mates... it’s awesome. Sign up closes at 10am on Thursday 16th.
The Race Day starts at 1.30pm. Teams of 5 will meet at the top of the Penken lift and head
to the race piste. Here they will battle it out to earn the title of ‘Best Posse on the Piste’.
Sign Up closes at 9am Thursday 16th.

INSURANCE

It is ESSENTIAL that every person travelling is covered by an appropriate insurance policy:

please remember that skiing and snowboarding holidays require a winter sports insurance
policy not just a standard holiday cover.

If you have booked insurance through Outgoing Ski you will be covered for the duration f
your holiday. We send out your insurance voucher to you prior to the trip but we do send
out a hard copy of the insurance policy; however you can print a copy off our website.
Please visit www.outgoingski.co.uk, if you roll your mouse over the ‘travel extras’ at the top
of the page you can view the insurance policy and print it off. [Please take time to read
through the policy and make sure that it is suitable for your needs. The cover provided is ‘Go
Bananas – level 3 cover’

Please note that this insurance policy does not cover racing. It is essential that you have
insurance for racing, but if you do not then you race at your own risk. You will receive a
disclaimer at resort that is required to be signed before racing.

For those of you who have taken out insurance through us, in the instance that you need to
make a claim whilst away, for example if you have an injury, illness or are admitted to
hospital please contact the Europ Assistance help line which is operated 24 hours a day:

+44 (0) 1444 442 463

To proceed with your claim you will need to inform the operator of your name and
that you have a ‘Go Bananas Policy 3’ with Reference ‘Outgoing Travel’.

If you need to make a claim under any section of the policy upon return from your trip you
will need to contact Europ Assistance in order to get a claim form through one of the
following methods.

BEHAVIOUR – PLEASE NOTE!!!

Please be aware and respect the rules and regulations. In particular please take note of
drinking laws, rules on noise and a no smoking policy. Whilst we want everybody to have as
much fun as possible it is very important everyone understands these rules that the
accommodation has on noise and drinking. Noise in bedrooms will not be tolerated after
10pm. However considering the entertainment programme it’s unlikely you’ll be in your
rooms at this time anyway! There will be other guests staying in the residence who will not
want to disturbed at night, so please show respect to these people.

Individuals are personally responsible for any wilful damage whilst at your residence. If the
behaviour of any member of the party is causing or is considered likely to cause offence,
danger, damage to property and / or distress to others, we reserve the right at all time,
without prior notice, to terminate the holiday of the person(s) concerned. However, we are
sure you will always be as good as gold!

TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF...

IT'S COLDER AND HIGHER THAN YOU THINK!
BRING SUN-CREAM - and USE it!
Even if you THINK there isn't much sun, you will certainly find it's stronger than you expect
due to the altitude you're at. Make sure you top up the sun cream regularly too.

SUN-GLASSES/GOGGLES
Same thing... get good quality ones, use 'em!

DRINK WATER!

You're dehydrating... and if you start to notice you're getting light-headed or getting
headaches, then you're probably suffering from the first stages of dehydration. Take water
with you as it's expensive up the mountain.
ALCOHOL

The good news is that the higher above sea-level you are, the less alcohol you need to get
drunk! That's fine... as long as you know about it BEFORE you go to the pub! Otherwise you
could end up in ALL sorts of trouble! TAKE CARE and as they say in The States - drink
responsibly!

DRUGS

No lectures - just be aware that the law's pretty much the same in Austria as it is in the UK.
Get caught, and you'll wind up in a prison where you can't even speak the language and they
serve pickled cabbage for breakfast!

ROOM SECURITY

There are thieves about in the Alps too... and if you don't take care of your stuff and lock
your rooms up properly - then they'll rip you off. Watch your skis or board while you're
having lunch... make sure you can see them if you can. If you have hired equipment stolen,
you'll have to pay for it and claim from your insurance later. If you’re staying at a hotel, they
may have a safe where you can leave valuables.
