TOPIC: Some people think that schools should reward students with the best
academic results, while others believe it is more important to reward students who
show improvements. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

There is no doubt that encouragement has a considerable bearing on student

performance.However, people remain divided over how to effectively use incentives
and praises in schools. While it is traditionally believed that rewards should only be

given to students who excel in their study, some argue that teachers must not neglect
individual who make progress. I agree with the latter view.

It is understandable why some people advocate rewarding the elite students only. The
key rationale in favor of this view is that these students have applied themselves to
achieve top performance, so it would seem sensible that their efforts earn them the
praises and extra privileges over those with lesser achievements.
