5th grade Recognition Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 22 at 9 a.m. at Central High School This is the only schedule item you will need to attend. Auditorium Slideshow - Parents provide one baby picture and one current photo to be included in a slideshow that will be played during graduation and in their classrooms. Photos of groups and events throughout their elementary years (Highland field trips, parties, sports, etc) will be included if those photos are provided, Please email photos in the jpg format to: hightand5thgradegraduation@gmail.com and include your child's name in the subject line. The sooner the better on sending please! Tie Dye Shirts - Students will ie and parent volunteers will dye shirts provided by the PTA in colors identifying them by their classroom which they will wear during Field Day (5/18) activities. * Shirts will not come home until after Field Day activities are completed. Field Trip - Wednesday, May 13 - Students will be bused from Highland to Camp Carson (Princeton, IN) and back during the school day for fun activities. Lunch and transportation are provided. There will be a $10 fee per student. You can pay by cash, check (made out to Highland PTA), or online at https://squareup.com/store/highland-elementary-pta. If you are able to donate to cover the cost for students in addition to your own student, that is much appreciated. Other donations for supplies are welcome too, Please sign and return the attached permission slip as soon as possible. Field Day - Monday, May 18 - Students will change into their tie-dyed shirts at school, ring the courtyard bell (where a picture is taken), and compete as a class in events coordinated by Coach Brown. Lunch provided. There is a rain date for this activity. Recognition Rehearsal - Thursday, May 21 - Students will be bused from Highland to Central High School and back during the school day to practice for the recognition ceremony, Brain Games - Thursday, May 21 - Students will compete as a class in question & answer activities during the school day at Highland. This event is held in the Cafeteria after lunch. Recognition Ceremony - Friday, May 22 - 9am at Central High School in the Auditorium. Students will be bused from Highland to Central High School. Family should meet students at Central. After the ceremony, students will meet in the Commons area to receive their Report Card from their homeroom teacher and be dismissed to a parent, or they may return to Highland if needed.
