Robert Lee Frost

(March 26, 1874 – January 29, 1963) was an American poet. His work was initially published in
England before it was published in America. Known for his realistic depictions of rural life and his
command of American colloquial speech, Frost frequently wrote about settings from rural life in New
englans in the early twentieth century, using them to examine complex social and philosophical themes.

Frost was honored frequently during his lifetime and is the only poet to receive four Pulitzer
Prizes for Poetry. He became one of America's rare "public literary figures, almost an artistic
institution. He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 1960 for his poetic works. On July 22,
1961, Frost was named poet laureate of Vermont.

Realization
When I started to translate this poem, I have a confidence to do it in easy way because I know
the poem but suddenly it literally hard as I translate it further. The choice of words, the rhythm and the
meaning I kept on holding makes it becoming more difficult to translate in. I know its easy to translate
in word by word but I’m into the meaning of the text so it makes me more critical in using appropriate
words. I do a lot of confusion especially in English to Filipino words. It has a lot of differences that’s
why it’s more challenging. When I already done in translating it in Filipino word, I’m happy and
satisfied because I know I translate it in meaning and from my heart. Its tiring and draining but as I
remember the day you spent in translating the piece, I inspired and it boost my confident that I can
translate piece on my own way. I’m thankful that I have the chance to translate this meaningful poem
by Robert Frost. Looking forward to translate more piece in Filipino version to further notice by the
fellow Filipino community.
