TSS

Suspended solids is a measure of solids that are suspended in the wastewater/ liquid waste and
these give wastewater its physical characteristics. Suspended solids have density lighter than that
of and diameter size if small. Total suspended solids (TSS) is the parameter used to indicate the
total mass loading in the wastewater entering the treatment (Reynolds, et al., 2002) plant in our
case its 3200ppm. When the suspended solids are disposed to the environment at higher
concentration they will limit the amount of light and oxygen in water bodies. If the suspended
solids are transported or channeled to water bodies they will settle and accumulate overtime and
this accumulated sediment can clog and alter the topography of water bodies. Suspended solids
can increase water turbidity

Suspended solids is the measure of solids that are suspended in the wastewater and they give
waste water its physical properties.
