Technical Reading – The correlation between electricity consumption and the pH of

your water

Have you installed Hitachi Maxell’s Alkaline Water Ionizer at your home, but are unsure
about its electrical consumption? Read on to find out what factors affect the electricity
consumption of your device.
When you select your desired pH and wait for the water to be processed, you might want to
control the flow rate of your water to produce the best result in terms of Hydrogen content
and pH level. It goes without saying that using high pH settings need a higher voltage
between the Platinum Electrode Plates to generate the appropriate water.

But a more important factor to control the electricity consumption is to manage the flow
rate of the water. Having a steady flow rate not only reduces your electricity costs, but also
gives you a better performance of the Hydrogen Concentration. For best results, try to
monitor the flow rate so that it lies between 1.8-2.5 liters per minute.
Another convenient power saving option is the Hydrogen Button, which increases the
hydrogen content in your water at the cost of more electricity. So how does it save power?
Well, you only need hydrogen when you’re using the water for drinking. For all other
purposes such as de-greasing and cleaning, Hydrogen does not play much of a role. So by
giving you an option to generate more Hydrogen when you process drinking water, you
save electricity by not using the option when you need water for other purposes.
