Summer 2020 Internship Program – Data

Intern
My name is Abdullah Alomair, and I’m a Ph.D. student at the Ohio State Univ. majoring in Industrial Eng.
I took many courses in operation research (OR): Linear & nonlinear programming, OR models/methods,
simulation, stochastic process/optimization and queueing modelling. I also took some Statistics classes:
Design of Experiments, mathematics statistics and statistics using SAS. I am currently working in Security
and efficiency analytics Lab (SEAL) under Prof. Ted Allen supervision.

I heard about NETJETS a few years ago as a leading private jet company. As an OR specialist, learning,
researching, optimizing/modeling, simulating and coding has always been a passion of mine. In my Ph.D.,
I have developed many projects in OR and modeling. In one class, I lead a project about dynamic
programming for solving cost-time trade off network models. Another project was about Closed Queuing
network and its application in Supply Chain. For the past two years, I have been appointed as Teaching
Associate (TA) at Integrated & Systems Eng. Dept. I was the TA for quality and reliability course which I
was responsible for teaching the basics of regression, design of experiments and lean six sigma (for 3
consecutive semesters). My overall evaluation is 4.47 (out of 5). Also, I am the TA of Eng. Project
management course for this semester. My responsibilities are to explain the project management basics
and teach Microsoft Project and Clarizen (project management software packages). My current research
is focusing on “how to develop educational cybersecurity gaming using Game Theory”. Because of my
background and natural interest in OR, I’m confident that I could perform with excellence as a NETJETS
data science intern.

Would you be able to schedule a short talk on the phone with me to discuss any possible opportunities?
NETJETS is at the top of my list of internships and I am very interested in hearing more about it. You can
reach me at (412) 425-2053. Thank you very much for your time, and I look forward to talking with you.

Best,
Abdullah Alomair
