SAFETY CAUTION! Turn the ‘Tow/Run switch to the tow position(if applicable) and disconnect the battery and or
batteries before working on this equipment. You must have a suitable jack and jack stands. Safety glasses should be worn
for your protection.
Front
The Front: Shock
Extender
Raise the car up and support the car with jack stands.
Remove the tires and the outer tie rod ends from the steering Tie Rod
spindle arm. It is best to use a Tie Rod Removal fork Riser Spindle
(28552) for the tie rod end removal to prevent damage to the Arm

stud threads. Remove the bottom shock nuts and hardware and Riser
keep them for reuse. Push the shock up and out of the way.
Remove the six axle mounting bolts and remove the axle.
Mount the front risers leaving the bolts loose. Mount the
axle onto the riser leaving the bolts loose. Install the tie rod Front Axle

extenders (see photo at right) and leave the bolts loose. FRONT VIEW Bolts
Install the tie rod into the extenders and leave the nuts
loose. If the tie rod end appears too short for the nut to install,
drill 3/16” into the top of the Tie Rod Riser with a 1/2” bit,
and the tie rod should fit correctly. Install the shock risers and Tie Rod
the shocks and begin tightening all the nuts and bolts at this Riser
Longer On Top
time. While tightening, check and make sure things are
aligned and straight.
Shock
Torque Specifications: Plate
3/8" bolts = 30 - 35 foot pounds.
Tie Rod castle nuts = 35 - 40 foot pounds. If cotter pin
slot is not aligned, tighten rather than loosen untill the Rear
next slot aligns. Riser
Tighten the shock nuts until the cushion expands to the Cap &
size of the washer. Rubber
