PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE RULES AND

CONSTITUTION OF THE ASSOCIATION

Honorary Secretary, Mr. Ha Tung Ing proposed and seconded by


Chairman, Mr. Lau Pik Ting to amend the following Clauses of the
Rules and Constitution of the Association

The amendments are as follow:


1. Chapter 15: Election and Tenure of Office
Original version of Chapter 15: Election and Tenure of Office
(a) The election of office-bearers of the executive committee
shall be held biennial by the end of the year in which the
election is due to be held.

(b) Names for the above office shall be by a simple majority vote
of the voting members at every alternate Annual General
Meeting. All the office-bearers shall be eligible for re-
election, except for the post of the chairman, a member shall
be eligible to hold the post for two contecutive tems only.

Amended version of Chapter 15: Election and Tenure of Office


(a) The election of office-bearers of the executive committee
shall be held triennial by the end of the year in which the
election is due to be held.

(b) Names for the above office shall be by a simple majority vote
of the voting members at every triennium Annual General
Meeting. All the office-bearers shall be eligible for re-
election, except for the post of the chairman, a member shall
be eligible to hold the post for two consecutive terms only.

2) Chapter 16: Meeting
Original version of Chapter 16: Meeting
(b)(iii)III) To elect, once every two years, members of the
Executive Committee, property officers and Auditors.

Amended version of Chapter 16: Meeting


(b)(iii)III) To elect, once every three years, members of the
Executive Committee, property officers and Auditors.

3) Chapter 18: Audit


Original version of Chapter 18: Audit
(a) One or more persons, who shall be qualified public auditors,
but shall not be office-bearer of the Association, shall be
appointed by the general meeting as Auditor or Auditors and
who shall hold office for two years. He/They shall have the
right to be present in any meeting but shall have no right to
vote.

Amended version of Chapter 18: Audit


(a) One or more persons, who shall be qualified public
auditors, but shall not be office-bearer of the Association,
shall be appointed by the general meeting as Auditor or
Auditors and who shall hold office for three years. He/They
shall have the right to be present in any meeting but shall
have no right to vote.

4) Chapter 19: Appointment of other officers
Original version of Chapter 19: Appointment of other officers
(a) Three Officers, who must be above the age of 21 years and
who must be members of the Executive Committee shall be
appointed by a general meeting for the purpose of section
9(b) of the Societies Act, 1966. The officers shall hold office
for two years and shall be eligible for two years and shall be
eligible for re-election or appointment.
Amended version of Chapter 19: Appointment of other officers
(a) Three Officers, who must be above the age of 21 years and
who must be members of the Executive Committee shall be
appointed by a general meeting for the purpose of section
9(b) of the Societies Act, 1966. The officers shall hold office
for three years and shall be eligible for three years and shall
be eligible for re-election or appointment.
