The Office of Student Affairs and the University as a whole, always welcome and even

encourages an opportunity that creates a venue where the youths, who Rizal referred to as
the hope of the country, gather and meet. I hope that this activity leaves a lasting and
meaningful effect for the youth, one that would make them realize how important their role is,
whatever field they may be, in creating a better world for everybody. With modern technology
in their hands, the youths of today can make use of its advantage in making themselves more
conscious and galvanize themselves into action in addressing global issues, thereby
contributing to social progress. It doesn’t have to be a death-defying contribution. It can be
as simple as this activity where the youths involve themselves, express concern, make use
of their leadership and make a stand.
The youth can never be apathetic as you have the advantage of good health, progressive
ideas, creative leadership and a strong voice that could transcend national borders. A
philosopher said that “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for men to do nothing”.
So youth, please do not allow that to happen. Be active participants and increase participants
of SSEAYP.
