What is Corporate Governance?

Governance pertains to the set of rules, controls, policies, and resolutions put in place to

dictate behavior. Governance at a corporate level includes practices and procedures for trying to

make sure that a company is run in such a way that it achieves its objectives, while ensuring that

stakeholders can have confidence that their trust in that company is well founded. In other words,

Corporate Governance referes to the way in which companies are governed and to what purpose.

Also, it provides the framework for attaining a company's objectives, it encompasses practically

every area of management, from action plans and internal controls to performance

measurement and corporate disclosure.
