Appreciating Someone

I used to be a closed-minded person. I only believed that I was the one who was really right. I never
appreciated someone’s effort although they made something with a great sacrifice, all I knew was they
made it imperfect. I thought I could do it too, everyone could make it, it was an unspectacular thing, or
something else. Judging was something I always did.

I never thought I would be an open-minded person since I met my friend on Facebook, his name was
Rey, a Dutch guy who lived in nursing home. He told me about his country, what happened in his
environment. He said he would like to draw my face because he liked drawing, I never thought he would
really want to do it, but he did. I replied his massage everyone could do it too, he said you should try to
do it as he did. I tried but I failed. He told me that people in there were really appreciating everyone’s
effort, thought, or anything else. That is why Netherland became developed country. No matter what
her/his background, colour, religion, and etc are. As long as he/she makes something with his/her power
own, he/she needs to be appreciated.

My mind now is totally different. When someone gives me an advice, when someone makes something,
and when someone says about their opinions, I always appreciate everything they do. Now I realize that
we cannot make something perfect, there are always positive and negative things we cannot hide.
