Recycle-Bin restore

To fix this problem, follow these steps to regenerate the Recycle Bin folder by
using the command prompt:

1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, Click Start

, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Command Prompt
(Power CMD).

2. Type the appropriate command for your operating system, and then press
ENTER.

Windows XP – copiaza si da apoi Enter:

rd /s C:\recycler

el te intreaba Y/N – se tasteaza Y si se da Enter

bifeaza ultima optiune – sa nu mai arate – si inchide CMD

apoi pe o zona libera de pe Desktop da Refresh – cosul se goleste

Windows Vista

rd /s /q C:\$Recycle.bin

Note For hard drives with other letters, substitute C: for the desired hard
drive letter.

3. Close the Command Prompt window.

4. Right-click an empty area of the desktop and then click Refresh.

Note The Recycle Bin should be empty now. If not, repeat these steps for
any other hard drive letter that you have.
2. Restart your computer. At the Windows startup screen, press the F8 key.
Several options will appear on your screen. Select "Safe Mode with Command
Prompt." Your screen should now show a command prompt, or "C:\." If you see
something else, you may be in the Windows directory. Type the command "CD\"
and press Enter. This should bring you to "C:\."

Type "attrib --s --h recycler" and press Enter. This command tells Windows to give
you access to the protected file.

Type the command "del recycler" and press Enter. This entry will delete your
corrupt Recycle Bin.

Restart your computer. Windows will detect the missing Recycle Bin and create a
new one.

3. Try running Disk Cleanup. In Windows XP goto Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools >
Disk Cleanup

Select ALL the options in the list, and then hit cleanup. It may take for ever if its the first time, but let it
be, come back when its done and restart the machine, and see if that boosted porformance, and cleared
out the RB.
