One application for each of the following laser-based measurement system components i- Polarizers. ii- Neutral density filters. ii Spatial filters. iv- Position sensing detectors. b. Question 3 (15 Marks) a. State how to calibrate a block gauge using interferometry. b. In an experiment for the calibration of a block gauge of nominal height = 10.000 mm. Question 4 (15 Marks) ‘a. What are the main phases of a measuring system? State the role of each phase. b.
