The Story of the Wind and the Sun

The wind and the sun had

an argument.

“I am the strongest,” said

the wind. “Listen to me
blow.”

“No, I am the strongest,”

said the sun. “Look at me
shine.”
“I can make that man
take off his coat,” said the
wind. And he blew and
blew. But the man kept
his coat on tight.

I’m the wind, I am

strong !
I can blow the clouds
along!
I will take your hat,
And blow it out to sea!

No one is as strong as
me!
“I can make that man
take off his coat,” said the
sun. And he shone
brightly.

It’s holiday time for everyone again,

Time to swim and jump and run again,
Take your coat off, here’s the sun again,
Summer has begun again! It’s fun again!

He shone brighter.
He shone brighter still,
and the man took his coat
off!

“I won,” said the sun.
