1.Triangulation

-triangulation is a method for horizontal control surveys , which make use of networks of triangular
figures , angles are measured directly on the field and sides are then obtained by trigonometric
computations , triangulation is commonly used for large areas

2.Triangulation system

-triangulation system consist of series of triangles adjoining together ,which makes side/s of a triangle
common to the adjoining triangle .

3.Adjustment of chain of triangles

-chain of triangles needs to satify number of goemetrical condition, adjustments to chain of triangles
are to be made in order to remove inconsistencies and for the prevention of error accumulation ,in the
adjustment of chain of triangles each of the triangels are treated independently adjustments , 2
methods can be done ; approximate method , and least square methods

4.Adjustment to quadrilateral

Just like in the chain of triangles , quadrilateral also has geometrical conditions to be satisfied,
quadrilaterals are adjusted in order to remove all discrepancy and to give the best probable value or the
angles , adjustment are fulfilled by the use angle and side conditions equation
