Rondell data Corporation had a reputation of being a source of high-quality
innovative designs. By Sources of Conflicts The conflicts in Rondell started
gradually as a result of increase in disputes between research, engineering sales,
and production staff over the last few years. The disputes seem to centre on the
problem of new product introduction, and are focused on the engineering
department. There were communication issues between departments and upper
Management. Rondell’s outdated organizational structure contributed also to the
conflicts. The structure in Rondell follows a strictly functional approach. The
strong “family” culture had become dysfunctional, giving way to divergent
subcultures.

Analysis of Rondell data corporation is as below-

1. Model 802 had hit consistent rejection due to faulty designs


2. New product hit delays and errors in transition till design and production
3. Last minute design changes in R&D
4. New product introduction and company’s decline in profit in spite of
higher sales
These problems are recurring in nature which has created a distress in the
operation of the company.

Definition

1. Each department is concerned about their own departmental benefit and


not about the company.
2. There is an inefficient communication practice between one department
and another which has led to decrease in efficiency of the client.

As a group below are the recommendations:

1. Rondell should make strong emphasis on Team building, Team


participation, and decision making.
2. A cross-functional approach should be taken to accomplish key company
tasks such as new product development. Retain the services of a qualified
consulting team to help the management team
3. An organizational design process should be initiated to determine the best
organizational structure for the company.
4. Engineering services should add a project management function to aid the
team in coordination, planning, and monitoring the project process.
