RAIN

After a long wait in vein

When the long summer’s gone
When the howling wind is gone
When the farmers’ toil is done

Heavens open and smile

All our foul mouthing’s gone
We put our chin up and smile
But Oh! Ye mortal beware, ere you smile

Ere you bare the wrath of whine

Bend and bow to thy maker
Thunder and lightning will strike
Lest ye not be contrite

Don’t let his bliss turn to hate

Pray, we not commit the crime
To whimper in vein
‘n not to bind to your gracious reign

O! Lord! Save our souls

We know you give us the sun and rain
Pray, give us the light
Not to night your light

Let you rain, not your hate

In thunder, lightning
Earthquakes and floods
Let not our fate be sealed

Let your grace shine

Bless us with rain
Let the trees, flowers and nature smile
Let our hearts be filled with thy Light

Let all creatures sing your glory

Pray you rain
So we could set us right
And not taint thy mighty name

Rain, rain
Let the Lord rain
His blessings on us mortal
