Verbs is one of the type of words in German that belong to the important grammar
rule. In general, verbs denote actions, events, and condition. They describe the activities of the
subject. One of the difficulties by language learning is classifying the types of verbs, especially
the perfect verbs that characterize a temporary event. This study analyzed the perfect verbs
according to their formation process and classification. The purpose of this study are: 1) the
types of perfect verbs, 2) the formation process of the perfect verbs, and 3) the classification of
the perfect verbs in the data. This study was analyzed by using the descriptive-analytical
method to explain the perfect verbs. The data of the study is the textbook Netzwerk A2 by
Dengler et al. (2017). The perfect verbs contains in the data 310 times, formed by word-forming
means, namely prefixes (259x), composition (8x), umlaut of basic vocal (3x), e / i-change (4x),
and without formation process (36x) become. In the data, the researchers does not find any
perfect verbs formed by suffixes. According to the classification, there are egressive verbs
(171x), ingressive verbs (116x), causative verbs (30x), mutative verbs (1x). There are, too,
some verbs that have more than one classification. These verbs are then in the data source with
6 times. According to the study, the next researchers may then continue to explore the syntactic
aspects of the perfect verbs or other classification of the action type, such as durative verbs.
