Attractive
Timely
Durable
Value creation
Xhale
As there is no clear cut solution for health care associated infections, so this opportunity was
very attractive and wide open for entrepreneurs
Xhale was launched timely in 2008, when there was no silver bullet to simultaneously eliminate
all health care associated inflections
Xhale could open the opportunity for other automated and medical products with artificial
intelligence, so it is also durable
Magnitude of health care infections and cost related to them make Xhale a sure value creation
product because it will tackle a major issue of health care and may reduce billion dollars cost
related to those infections
Vestagen
Solving health care associated infections was an open field for entrepreneurs, so vestagen also
targeted an attractive opportunity
Vestagen was launched in 2009, it may be not timely because different products like xhale etc.
were introduced before
Fabric is always a durable product, because it can be used to create opportunities for products
like clothing, embroidery and company hopes to incorporate it into patient gowns, bed line
deckle and clinical privacy curtains
Vestex also creates value for hospitals and doctor by tackling a major and costly issue faced by
health care industry.
Ranking:
Xhale [4 out of 5]
There is always a room for improvement but xhale satisfies all four dimensions of opportunity.
Vestagen [3 out of 5]
It satisfies 3 dimensions except it was not launched timely, products like xhale captured and targeted
the problem before.
Question # 2:
Xhale and Vestegen’s business ideas can be strengthened by environmental trends
Economy of US is strong so, hospitals and doctors will be able to afford such innovative products
which will resolve a major health care issue.
Every human wants to live a long lasting life and humans will have to do anything to sustain
their healthy lives, so this social force also strengthens the concept of Xhale and Vestagen.
Trend of artificial intelligence and increased use of computer technology will help hospitals to
monitor their staff and employees remotely through Xhale. Increasing trend of nanotechnology
in health care industry can support the idea of Vestegan.
Patient Safety & Quality Improvement Acts, 2008 which was effective from 2009, was important
regulatory force driving the ideas of Xhale & Vestagan.
