Question B: Why do you think it is a good example of movie of this genre?

Answer : I think that, it is a good example of movie of this genre because it displayed almost all essential
characteristic of horror film.

Sequential photographs of the ghost approaching the leads was scary. The lights ,darkness, sound and
closeup shots were something that added to the suspense. The movie had lots of sudden pop out right at
your face scenes that added to make it frightening and scary. Sparks of mysterious white vapors and the
glistening sunlight against the camera lenses, being interpreted as ghostly entities attempting to
communicate with the living makes it comply to its horror genere. The camera angles used here are another
factor, as they hide everything during the scene and really making it hard to figure out what's happening.

Question C: How the movie of your discourse complies with the genre conviction?

Answer : I think that in following ways the movie of my discourse comply with the genre conviction :

The idea of restless spirits trying to communicate through photography and more to add to it sequential
photos with the ghost shown approaching its pray via photographs is something very new and scary. The
ethereal cries of a haunting girl, the innocent humming of a horror song and the most intense tonguing
since Toad got struck by lightning back is frightening. The dark room sequence when Megumi entered the
room, although initially presumed to be Jane, was executed with enough slow-paced tension to was very
effective from genere conviction.
Question D: What ideology/doctrine/propaganda/notion was conveyed through the film?

Ans: I think that, following ideology/doctrine/propaganda/notion was conveyed through the film:

“You cant do an evil and come out of it easily” this was something every people should understand because
as in the movie shown how the three people raped and murdered the girl but were followed by her shadow
and finally got to a tragic end. Apart from that people should understand the basis of relationship as it’s a
two way process and u can’t enforce it on to somebody.

Question E: How it carried such matter (continuation from question. D) within its context?
Provide a scene to support your theory.

Ans: I think that,

The movie in a part shows Ben's friends Bruno and Adam in an intimidating scene with Megumi who was a
bit dosed. Later Jane investigates and finds that the victim was Ben's former shy and weird girlfriend
Megumi Tanaka, who worked as translator for Ben. Jane discloses deep and hidden secrets about the
relationship of Megumi, Ben and his friends Bruno and Adam. She too realised that Megumi was never after
her and wanted to help her instead from those criminals who killed her. The movie at the end discloses
Megumi sitting at the shoulders of Ben always as a lesson and suffering to lifetime punishment.

Question F: Identify the primary audience base for this film.

Ans: I think that, following were the primary audience base for this film:

This movie suits with a large bandwidth of audience. Teenagers and adults will definitely love the suspense
and in the same hand will take a life lesson from it. Its suitable for those person who love to watch thrill,
suspense and has no issues watching weird unhuman ghostly attacks.

Question G: Any other analysis/statement that you want to contribute to help your
discourse.

Ans : I think that,

As far the genere conviction is concerned right from the very first scene where following a gruesome car
accident, a newly wed couple in Japan believe that the female victim of the accident has returned as a ghost
and seeking retaliation against him for a previous incident against her and forcing them to find a way to
stop the rampage. The first dark-room encounter where Ben finally becomes convinced of the presence of
the ghost, the encounter with the ghost in the boardroom which is another freaking innovation of the
Polaroid camera allowing for some suspense to be had with the waiting for the photo results to come
about, and the interaction that happens once the revelation has occurred is really good. The later attack
alone in the apartment with only the flashing camera , the sounds of what's going on making it so fun and
creepy that works so well due to being quite long and intense, which makes it stand-out a little more than
the quick-shot appearances throughout the beginning. Those quick-cut scenes are also pretty good, with
their being a fantastic collection of banging noises off in the distance, ailing cries throughout the house and
different pop-ups everywhere was outstanding. The final part of the movie Megumi sitting at the shoulder
top uncovered many mysteries as if she was always there with Ben after her death was a bit unorthodox but
it well suited with the story.
