The function of language in communication

A language is a system of communication which consists of a set of sounds and written

symbols which are used by the people of a particular country or region for talking, writing and
express themselve. One of the function is conveying ideas to others.

Language in communication also plays a role in how we affect other people, and how we
make others feel, achieved just by our choice of words. Example, if we use the informal word that
will cause others to misunderstand us or hurt other. While ostensibly conveying the same meaning,
they affect our addressee in very different ways. Because language hurts far more than physical
harm. Language enables people to convey their feelings, desires and emotions to others through
communication.

Beside that, other function is maintain the relationship in society. Language is essential in
establishing and maintaining relationships with other people. It is language which makes
conversation possible between any two individuals as well as interaction. Everyone living in
society must interact with and influence each other, that is, they must interact with others. This
communication is the process of contacting people, exchanging information, communicating ideas,
and feelings. In turn language helps in collecting information about the speaker.

Moreover, language enable the discussion smoothly. To understand a topic area more deeply.
If understanding some language, you can expand your knowledge in order to explore ideas and
exchange information in the discussion. At the result we can express our ideas clearly and avoid
unnecessary argue.

Furthermore, we can express our thoughts and feelings about the fact. As long as we use
language to express different opinions and ideas about things. It also provides important feedback
to other speakers on how effectively they are communicating their ideas and giving opinion.

In my conclusion, language plays an important role in our lives because language promotes
effective communication. Please master a language, use a language, let the language play its
biggest role, and don't let the language be the fuse of fire between you and others. Using language
well and make language truly a bridge of communication.
