Grade 7 - Household Services

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:

A. discuss the different types of personal protective equipment.;

B. dramatize the importance of personal protective equipment in the workplace; and

C. value the importance of using the proper personal protective equipment in the workplace.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Practice Occupational health and safety procedures

Sub-topic: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

References: K to 12, Household services module, Pages 47-48

Materials: Pictures and TLE module.

III. Learning Procedure

A. Preliminary Activity

1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of attendance
4. Review on the Previous lesson

B. Activity
1. The teacher will divide the class into 2 groups each group will be given a jumbled
pictures.
2. Each group will be given 3 minutes to arrange the pictures. Afterwards, they will post the
picture on the board and one representative of each group will explain the pictures given to
them.

C. Analysis
1. What do you think would be the relationship of these pictures to our topic this afternoon?

2. What is PPE?
 D. Abstraction

 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) refers to protective clothing, helmets, googles, or

other garment or equipment designed to protect the wearer’s body from injury by blunt impacts,
electrical hazards, heat, chemicals, and job-related health purposes.

 List of Personal Protective Equipment ( Steel toe boot, glasses, sunglasses,shoe,linemans

boots, Jacket, Logging boots, raincoat, blackbelts, long-sleeve, Long pants and dust mask.

E. Application

1. The class will be divided into 3 groups. Each group will prepare a small skit/drama
showing the importance of using personal protective equipment within 3-5 minutes.

2. Their output will be rate with a rubric.
