Feeler gauge
Straight edge
Procedure for leveling the ball mill and drive system frame
Finish civils to desired height with hold down bolts in place
Make sure all hold down bolts are properly aligned and squared
Place I beam and cover with cement, to leave 60mm out
Drill 5 holes equidistant from each other along the I beam length to fit OD M24
nut
Place M24 nut half way through the hole and weld to the I beam
Place the adjustment bolt with a lock nut on all the 5 holes
Place them at approx. same height
Place the ball mill frame on top of the nut head with its holes through hold
down bolts
Adjust the bolts with the help of Engineer Square to attain a flat profile
Do this repeatedly for every bolt
Repeat the same procedure for drive system side to make frame flash with
ball mill frame
When the level is zero tighten the frame on hold down bolts
Girth gear and Pinion Assembly
Place girth gear on the shell end
Use straight edge to put the girth flash with shell body
Drill holes on the shell body to mount adjustment bolt
Use the DTI to locate the girth eccentricity with the shell body
Adjust the bolts to move the girth to acentric position with the shell
Repeat this process until the girth and shell are acentric
Align the pinion gear with the girth gear
Use filler gauge to measure clearances and make sure the teeth gear don’t
clash at the root
