movement. Music reflecting the ideas of remembrance

2018 is inevitably a year in which we look back; 100
years since the end of the “War to end all wars” and 100
years since the beginning of women’s suffrage in Great
Britain. Therefore, it seemed fitting to design a
programme reflecting these ideas for the choir’s
November concert.
When asked what is the theme of the concert, I have
given three thoughts: Music from the time of World War
One, including music composed by those who served in
the war. Music linked to the women’s suffrage
and peace. It has been enjoyable researching, rehearsing
and performing the wide range of music that these ideas
provides and I hope that you will enjoy tonight’s concert.
I am very grateful to Broad Street Methodist Church for
inviting us to perform at their lovely church and the
choir is pleased to support Vision 21.
I hope this music will entertain, move and give pause to
reflect on the events commemorated in 2018 and
beyond.
