ABSTRACT

Based on geographical aspects, Indonesia is at the meeting of three giant tectonic plates
namely Eurasia, India, Australia and the Pacific which are prone to disasters. This has an
impact on all aspects, including health facilities which expected to function as a safe
environment during disasters. As one of the new health care facilities, Universitas
Indoensia Hospital also carries the risk of emergencies and disasters. So that the readiness
of hospitals in disaster management is needed. The purpose of this study was to determine
the readiness status of Universitas Indonesia Hospital, evaluate the obstacles faced by
hospitals, and provide recommendations for improvement in implementing disaster
management plans. This research uses a combination of research methods (a combination
of qualitative and quantitative methods). The qualitative method uses in-depth interviews,
observation, and document review, while the quantitative method uses the second edition
preparedness index published by WHO and PAHO in 2015.
