A. Preliminary Activity

Everybody, please stand up and let us pray. (the student will stand up)

May I request to lead the (the student will pray)

prayer

Good morning class! Good morning, Ma’am Ignacio!

Good morning, visitors.

Is there any absentee today? None, ma’am.

Very good class, all of you are present. Since all

of you are here. Let’s start our day.

For us to energize, let us dance the song

entitled ‘’Gummy Bear’’

Class, I gave you an assignment right? Yes, ma’am.

Kindly, pass your assignment. (the student will pass their assignment)
B. Review (Elicit)
Class, yesterday we learned about the
ecological relationships. Let’s see if you still
remember.

I have here pictures; all you have to do is pick a

picture and match it to another and determine
their symbiotic interactions.

Are you ready class? Yes, ma’am

1. Flower and Bee

Bee’s and flowers. The bee sucks the pollen

from the flower and will go to another flower
resulting pollination. We call it mutualism.

2. Carabao and Cattle egrets

The cattle egrets feed on the insect/parasite

on the carabao. Both of them benefits from
each other, we call it commensalism.

3. Mosquito and Human arm

The mosquito feeds on human blood and

causing harm to the human by giving them
dengue. We call it parasitism

C. Motivation (Engage)

To continue, let us have a simple game called

pick a picture, may I request six
representatives.

I have here pictures of animals, environment

and places. All you have to do is place them on
the appropriate column as provided on the (the representatives will stand up)
table.
ANIMALS ENVIRONMENT PLACES
Thank you. You may now take your seat.

Class, what can you say about the pictures that Different animals have their own place and
you see on the table? environment to survive.

Very good! Animals have their own places and

environment. Plants and animals are all living
organisms. What do you call their community? Ecosystem

Very good answer!

D. Lesson Proper (Explore)

Pre- Activity

To learn more about the Ecosystem let us have

a group activity. I prepared different bags for
each group containing the materials needed
for the activity. Each group will make a
miniature.

The Group 1 Desert Ecosystem

The Group 2 Freshwater Ecosystem

The Group 3 Marine Ecosystem

The Group 4 Tundra Ecosystem

The Group 5 Grassland Ecosystem

And lastly, Group 6 Forest ecosystem

Do you understand class? Yes, Ma’am.

You are given 20 minutes to work for your

activity.

You can start now. (the students will do their activity)

Activity Proper

Let the students do their group activities.

Group 1: Desert Ecosystem

Will make a miniature of desert ecosystem,
they will identify the problems that may occur
in that ecosystem and suggest ways on how
these problems can be resolved.

Group 2: Freshwater Ecosystem

Will make a miniature of freshwater
ecosystem they will identify the problems that
may occur in that ecosystem and suggest ways
on how these problems can be resolved.
Group 3 : Marine Ecosystem
Will make a miniature of Marine Ecosystem
they will identify the problems that may occur
in that ecosystem and suggest ways on how
these problems can be resolved.

Group 4: Tundra Ecosystem

Will make a miniature of Tundra Ecosystem
they will identify the problems that may occur
in that ecosystem and suggest ways on how
these problems can be resolved.

Group 5: Grassland Ecosystem

Will make a miniature of Grassland Ecosystem
they will identify the problems that may occur
in that ecosystem and suggest ways on how
these problems can be resolved.

Group 6: Forest Ecosystem

Will make a miniature of Grassland ecosystem
they will identify the problems that may occur
in that ecosystem and suggest ways on how
these problems can be resolved. (the students will do their activity)

Post Activity

Are you ready for the presentation of your

activity? Yes, Ma’am.

(The teacher will call the representative of

each group to present their output) (Each group will present their activity)

Very good, class! Give yourself a whistle clap. (the students will do the whistle clap)

Discussion (Explain)

Based on the activity, what can you say about Ecosystem is a community of living organisms
ecosystem? like plants and animals.

Very good! Enumerate the six environmental The six environmental ecosystems are desert,
ecosystems? freshwater, marine, tundra, grassland, and
forest ecosystem.

Can you give an animal that lives in a desert One example of animal lives in a desert is
and tell why such animal survives in that camel. It has a thick coat of hair that protects
environment? them from the sun and it has hump at the back
that stores fat which serves as nourishment
when food is scarce.
Very good! Because deserts are the Earth's
driest environments.
Can you differentiate freshwater and marine A freshwater ecosystem consists of streams,
ecosystem? wetlands, ponds, lakes, and rivers. Marine
ecosystems are more diverse than freshwater
ones. They include salt marshes, wetlands,
estuaries, mangroves, and give
accommodation to various different kinds of
animals and water plants. But they are much
more sensitive.

Very good! What can you see in tundra? Polar bears, penguins and sea lions can be
spotted there. In tundra the land is covered by
snow and ice.

Very good! Tundra is the global biome that

consists of the treeless regions in the north
and high mountains.

How does grassland play an important role in Farming wheat, farming corn and raising cattle
producing food to people? are some ways.

Very good. Grassland is an environment in

which grasses and glasslike plants dominate
the vegetation.

How does deforestation affect the forest? Deforestation threatens the life of animals and
plants. Animals will lose their homes.

Very good. Forest is a broad term used to

describe areas where there are a large number
of trees.

Do you have any questions? None, Ma’am.

E. Generalization (Elaborate)

I will say a statement about ecosystem. Tell if

it is true or false. Let’s begin.

Questions:

1. A desert has a very dry climate. - true

2. Grassland gets a little more rain than a
desert. - true
3. We can take care of our ecosystem by - false
deforestation.
4. Sharks live in freshwater. - false
5. Tundra is composed of snow and ice. - true

Complete the group of words base on what

you have learned about ecosystem.

My chosen word is _______________ ecosystem

I know that I know ______________ that ecosystem is a community of living
organisms.

First, I know that ______________ there are six types of environmental

ecosystem.

In addition, I know that ________________ the six environmental ecosystems are desert,
grassland, tundra, marine, freshwater and
forest.

Finally, I know that _________________ we can take care our ecosystem by planting
Language Strategy: Metacognition trees and conserving water.

Very good class!

F. Application
Let’s have an activity. I will give you a piece of
paper. You will make a catchphrase on how
can we protect our environment. Each group
will present their work in front and tell why (answers may vary)
they choose to do that.

G. Valuing
As human, how can you relate ecosystem in (answers may vary)
your life?

Very good class.

Give yourselves a good job clap!

H. Evaluation (Evaluate)

Identify what environmental ecosystems are the following pictures and choose the correct
animal that lives in that environment.

1.
a. zebra
b. dolphin
c. monkey

2. _______________________

a. rattle snake
b. whale
c. fox

3.
