Respondents and Sampling Procedure

The respondents of the research are the household of Lirio Street, Barangay Carmen,

Cagayan de Oro City. The population of the research is ____ individuals living in the Lirio

Street. To get the sample site of the population, the researchers will use the formula n=

N/1+N(e²) with the margin error of 0.05. Then, purposive or judgment sampling is utilized

to get the sample site of every individual living in Lirio Street. With purposive sample, the

researchers are likely to get the opinions of the target population but may also put undue

weight on subgroups in the population that are more readily accessible.

Research Instrument

To gather the data needed for the research, the researchers will use the following

instruments:

1. Questionnaire

The instrument that the researchers will use is questionnaire to determine

the characteristics of the respondents. Part I Collecting data on the

respondents’ profile: age, sex, religion of parents, income, educational

attainment, occupation of parents, and distance of RHU from the house of

the respondents. Part II will deal with the level of awareness of immunization

due to the reemergence of poliomyelitis such as understanding about

vaccination, benefits and advantages, disadvantages, availability of

vaccines, and types of immunization.

2. Interview
The researchers will use the interview to supplement the phenomenological

data needs, it will also give opportunity for the respondents to clarify

questions concerning the survey. Further, it will give flexibility for follow up

questions or discuss issues concerning the topic of study that was not

clearly expounded by the questionnaire.
