SUMMARY:

Once there was a boy named Larry who just got a job. His job was a night guard to a
museum and he had a new beautiful uniform. He came early to the museum just as the visitors are
leaving. The Chief Guard immediately commanded him to watch over the dinosaur’s skeleton. He was
also commanded not to worry for other matters, he just have to keep an eye to the dinosaur’s
skeleton. Larry sat into his chair and thought everything is great. A moment later, he was fast asleep.
When Larry woke up, the skeletons are disappeared.
He rushed to corridor when another guard told him to calm down. The other guard says
everything’s okay. He explained that probably the skeletons are just around somewhere. Larry
became so shocked. The other guard explained that after a long day, the exhibits are allowed to
stretch their legs and have something to eat. He also explained that a train brought tons of food for
the animals in the basement and then Larry found another bone but the skeletons are still nowhere.
In the basement, the guard asked Larry to help them from unloading the food to feed the animals. He
was also asked if he could bring the animals in the New York State exhibit for a walk.
In the park, Larry saw that the other guards are taking the great octopus and whale for a
swim in the lake and Larry found another bone so, the guards suggested him to try the mine below if
he could find the skeleton. When Larry was there, he could not refuse but bring snacks to the guards
working there. Then the guards suggested that the dinosaur’s skeleton might be in the planetarium.
At the planetarium, the coyotes are practicing howling the moon and again, Larry was given the task
to touch up the stars on the ceiling with fluorescent paint. It is almost down when he finished and he
was so desperate where to find next. However, he noticed something happening in the museum
office. In the office, he found the States of Audobon, the famous bird painter and the explorers Lewis
and Clark enjoying a cup of tea and a game of cards. Clark told him that the dinosaur’s skeleton he has
been looking for is at the dinosaur’s room, and they are playing hide and seek. When he went there, it
was all true and not a single bone was missing. Clark then said that the guards have played the old
bone trick on him. Clark explained that they just scattered the bones just to make the newcomer do
their work. When Larry looked at his watch, he saw that the museum is about to open so he told the
skeletons to go back to their places. Then every exhibit is now ready but the night guards are now
ready to go to bed. Their Chief Guard praised Larry for a good work then asked him if he could take a
day shift because one guard is sick. He accepted it but then he collapsed into a chair. So if you see a
guard asleep in the museum, don’t wake him up for he might still recovering from a very difficult
night.
