CENTER TANK PRESSURE-RELIEF-VALVE - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

TASK 28−11−21−710−801
1. Operational Test of the Center Tank Pressure−Relief−Valve

A. Reference Information

REFERENCE DESIGNATION

TASK 12−11−05−650−801 Suction Defueling

TASK 28−00−00−910−801 Fuel−System Safety Precautions

B. Job Set−Up

(1) Obey the fuel−system safety precautions (TASK 28−00−00−910−801).

(2) Examine the fuel quantity in the applicable tank as follows:

(a) On the refuel/defuel control panel, make sure that you do not have more than
8000 lbs (3629 kg) in the center tank.

(b) If you have more than 8000 lbs (3629 kg) in the center tank, do the step that
follows:
− Transfer the fuel or do a suction defueling of the center tank until you get
the correct indication (TASK 12−11−05−650−801).

C. Procedure

(1) Do an operational test of the relief valve as follows:

(a) Make sure that the relief valve opens and closes easily. The handle will pull
down approximately 0.5 in (12.6 mm).

(b) Pull and then release the T−handle on the relief valve.

D. Close Out

(1) Remove all tools, equipment, and unwanted materials from the work area.
