Social responsibility is defined as an ethical framework and suggests that an entity,

be it an organization or individual, has an obligation to act for the benefit of society at
large. Businesses, in addition to maximizing shareholder value, must act in a manner that
benefits society. For most businesses, social responsibility shows a balance between
profitability and doing their responsibilities in benefiting society as a whole. This concept
can be used to help benefit society as a whole. It doesn't always have to be big, it can
also be shown through small actions. Social responsibility can start from oneself. An
activity as simple as encouraging recycling is already an example of this. The sale and
use of eco-bags/ tote bags can be promoted, and at the same time, you will be able to
help the environment. Minimizing paper wastes can also help the environment. Work as
simple as turning the lights off and turning the faucet off when not in use can also already
exhibit social responsibility. It might be small but the impact of this in the long run and in
a large scale is very impactful. The essence of social responsibility is knowing what our
responsibilities and obligations are for the benefit of the common good or the society, and
being aware that all our actions must not harm the environment.
