2a. What is your personal experience with your local social issue?
What assumptions might you
carry in regards to the issue or problem? What kind of research will you do to inform yourself about the issue or problem? Where might you find diverse and conflicting perspectives as you research?
My personal experience with my social issue is me being in a vet technician
class. The animals that we work with are from the shelter so I work very closely with the different behaviors and problems of the animals. I have been to the shelter as well so that makes me closely related to this topic I don’t think a lot of people are educated in this issue. A lot of people don’t know that any of this happens or what type of animals they are dealing with. A lot of the animals are so incredibly sweet and people don’t realize that, they just see them as shelter animals. .I will talk to my vet tech teacher what he thinks about the issue. I will ask kids in my class about the topic because they are just as close to it as I am. My friend adopted a cat from the shelter so he is very close to the topic too and I can ask him what he thinks about it. I will also look up articles and research about different shelters to get different views. All over the internet there will be conflicting articles because this is such a big issue and it is happening everywhere. Everyone has their own opinion on what should happen to the pets so there will be many different sides. My class there might even be different sides or even different variations of the same side. There is also tik tok which seems random but I have seen many videos of people adopting pets from the shelter and reading the comments and seeing that a lot of people don’t agree with what the person did.
