2. PRESENTACION
At the end of this guide apprentice will be able to: talk about their daily routine using basic expressions and
hours; identify simple present tense; use simple present tense in affirmative sentences, including third
person; use wh question and the verb to be to ask about the time;
The instructor tells the class that they will be starting the lesson with a game to review the previous week’s
vocabulary. While one instructor explains the rules, the other quickly writes the relevant vocabulary on the
white board.
The class is divided into two roughly equal teams with comparable English fluency levels. One student from
each team is brought to a starting line a few meters away from the white board and one of the instructors
describes one of the words to the class without saying which word they are referring to. As soon as one of
the students thinks they know what word is being descried, they run to the white board and touch the word.
Depending on the class’s level of fluency, they then must either say the word aloud or produce a simple
sentence using the word. If they are correct, their team gets a point. If they are incorrect, the other student
gets a chance to guess. If they are also incorrect, both students start again from the starting line and the
teacher provides additional clues until one of the students guesses correctly. Once a student guesses
correctly, the next pair of students comes to the board and the process is repeated successively until every
student has participated. The team with the most points at the end wins.
