COMFAR III and Windows 8

COMFAR is not yet released for Windows 8.

Nevertheless it should work as long as the newest device driver for the COMFAR HASP
protection key is installed.

A) New installation of COMFAR

During the installation of COMFAR do not install the HASP SRM Run-time.

1) When below Window appears click on Cancel.

2) Afterwards click on Exit Setup


3) Confirm that you interrupted the HASP SRM Setup.

4) Download the latest release 6.51 of the HASP driver setup program from our ftp server using
below link or install driver provided in Windows 8 directory of installation CD or flash memory.
ftp://ftp.unido.org/COMFAR/haspdinst651.exe

5) Run the downloaded haspdinst651.exe to install the newest driver compatible with Windows
8.

6) Restart the computer.

7) Connect the HASP key to the computer and wait few seconds till you receive the message that
the new hardware device is installed.

8) Start COMFAR.

B) Removal of a non compatible HASP driver.

In case you receive above error message when starting COMFAR on Windows 8 you have to
remove the non-compatible HASP driver by following the steps described below.

1) Unplug the COMFAR HASP key from the computer!

2) Go to Control Panel – Programs – Uninstall a program


3) Select the program 'HASP SRM Run-time' and click on Uninstall

4) Follow the instructions to remove the driver for the HASP key.

5) Download the latest release 6.51 of the HASP driver setup program from our ftp server using
below link
ftp://ftp.unido.org/COMFAR/haspdinst651.exe

6) Run the downloaded haspdinst651.exe to install the newest driver compatible with Windows
8.

7) Restart the computer.

8) Connect the HASP key to the computer and wait few seconds till you receive the message that
the new hardware device is installed.

9) Start COMFAR.
