The present perfect simple is formed with has/ have + past participle of the verb:
The past participle of regular verbs is formed by adding –ed (so it is the same in form as the
simple past) : washed , stayed, carried, watched, listened, studied, travelled etc.
The past participle of irregular verbs all have the different forms and must be learned.
I have done , He has driven , I haven’t taken etc.
2. The present perfect is used for an action that happened in the past, but the time of the
action is not given : I have bought a lot of postcards.
