Reflection Essay

Hello my name is Rizka Ayu Pambudiningtyas, I’m from offering G Biology State
University of Malang 2019 and my NIM is 190342621272. So this is my first time to write a
reflection essay using English, please understand if my words or sentences or grammar still wrong.
So today, 14th of November 2019, we had English for biology class, Mr. Indra couldn’t
came so Ms. Rifka came instead to replaced him but Ms. Rifka came late because she said she still
has another business to do. As I remember Ms Rifka came to the class about 07.45 AM. She said
sorry for her late attendance. And then she asked us what we were doing in the class last week
with Mr. Indra. We said that we had a discussion about what we’re gonna presented today.
Thereafter Ms. Rifka asked how many group are in the class and asked each group what the topic
of their presentation today. Here what each group topics for presentation today : (a) Group 1 about
measuring of pH, (b) Group 2 about thermometer, (c) Group 3 about titration, (d) Group 4 about
pitfall trap, (e) Group 5 about plant tissue, (f) Group 6 about centrifuge. For your information I’m
in group 6, but my group didn’t do a presentation today because the limited time. Today we just
had presentation of two group, they are group 3 and group 1. Before the presentation began Ms.
Rifka asked us to listen the presentation carefully because after one group presented their topic,
there will be one person appointed to retell what the presenter talked about. Lucky me! I’m not
appointed. The first group that did the presentation today is group 3, they are talked about titration;
what is titration, the aim of titration, tools of titration, titration procedure, and indicator for titration.
The next group to do the presentation is group 1, they are talked about pH measurement; what is
pH, ways to measure pH of solution, how to measuring pH using litmus paper test, universal
indicator test, and pH meter, and how to calibrate pH meter. Ms Rifka said that groups that have
not been presented today will do it next week.
After group 3 and 1 did their presentation Ms. Rifka gave us some advice to use/choose an
accent, American, British or etc, to increase our self confidence, she is also show the difference
between American accent and British accent. Ms Rifka said no matter what accent you choose,
just be confidence with that. Because that will help us a lot in a toefl or ielts test, boost our
confidence. And today I got new words that have similar meaning with ‘the other’, they are ‘etc,
so on and so forth’.
And to improve my English skill I think I will read some interesting English story or watch
English movie with English subtitle or listen English song. Honestly, I’m not that good in reading,
so I think watching movie or listen music is better for me. I’d like to watch English movie with
English subtitle, I think that will help me to improve my English skill, because in the movie they
have certain accent (like Harry Potter, they have British accent) and I will try to understand what
the actors are saying. And will try to read some interesting English story like e-novel or horror
story. And yeah I will read some topics about biology that written in English. I hope that gonna
help me in improving my English skill.
