Tate in film clips and posters, lets her posthumously do the same.
Tate is best known for her tragic death, as a pregnant woman slain with her
friends during the infamous 1969 Manson murders, committed by hippies
controlled by Charles Manson. Considered a crime that ended the 1960s and
made America lock its doors again, the killings were motivated by Manson’s

Sharon Tate was married to Roman Polanski, then one of the most admired
directors in town. Eight years after Tate’s death, Polanski raped a 13-year-old

Aggarwal and his assistants are busy with

2020 edition on 16 February.
The designer is planning to showcase a
new collection, titled Axil, with references
to futuristic bio-mimicry. “As a brand, we
have always tried to project the future and
envision the way fashion is likely to move
forward,” says Aggarwal, as we settle down
for a chat in his refurbished office. He
maintains that his language is the same as
when he started his journey as a designer.
“Only, what was futuristic back then has
now become the present,” he adds.
Axil is in sync with the overarching
theme this season—#BetterIn3D—and
gets its name from the angle between the
flower and the stalk that it grows from.
Aggarwal carries forth his engagement
with themes of coexistence between the
world of flora and fauna with bionic and
human life. “We have visualized a world in

idyllic hill station. Young Khurshid recalls eagerly
waiting for the pastrywala when his father told the
family they had to pack up and return to Lahore
immediately. Khurshid, having just turned 6,
writes about being very angry at one “Amolak Ram
Kapur, whoever he may be” for having cut short his
summer vacation. Later, he found out that Kapur
was not only a noted Hindu criminal lawyer and his
father’s close friend, but had also rung up to ask
whether the Kasuris could occupy his now aban-
doned house on Fane Road, as he feared looters and
thieves might enter the grand premises.
When Partition was declared, Kapur realized
that his temporary absence would certainly be per-
manent, and the Kasuris began to pack the Kapur
family’s belongings. Boxes upon boxes were fitted
in a truck and sent across the new border to an old
friend. With tears in her eyes, Suneja recalls the
contents of the boxes, “Not only had they sent
across my father’s vast legal library and his com-
plete and enviable collection of the works of Shake-
speare, but the boxes even included all of our warm
clothes.” Winter was arriving, and because they
had left in haste and had no means to buy new win-
ter clothes, the Kasuris made sure they would not
freeze. It was a gesture of absolute kindness and
consideration.

I meet Adam and Asmaa, Palestinian friends
who drive me to their home in Haifa, Israel’s

The day after, we head south to visit the
Israeli family. I’m worried about how they’ll
react to Adam and Asmaa. I know they are no
big fans of the Palestinian cause, to put it
mildly. But we are welcomed with hugs, warm
smiles and a yummy brunch of local fruits,
cheeses, fresh bread and good wines. I feel
quite the UN diplomat for a moment. Adam
and Asmaa get along splendidly with my long-

settle in my chest.
The feeling doesn’t last long. On our way to

at me sitting in the back seat and points to my
