Iraq - Matrix Stimulation Treatment with Volcanic™ Acid System II through ESP pump enhanced oil

production by 27% (Additional 300 BOPD = 612 M per month @ 68 usd/bbl).

Challenge Performed by: Jhonny Alvarez

 A customer in Iraq was facing near-wellbore damage on one of its wells. The production
slowly declined to 1100 bopd
 The skin formation damage was unknown and the stimulation treatment had to be
performed through the electrical submersible pump “ESP” with minimum acid volumes to
avoid corrosion effects within the electrical pump.
 An enhanced stimulation was required to increase well performance.

Solution

 First, Halliburton conducted a customized engineering stimulation design using

STIM2001TM modeling software to best understand well history, reservoir fluid and rock
properties, formation damage mechanics, fluid invasion and permeability contracts.
 Based on the findings, a customized solution made of a combination of Volcanic™ Acid
System II was proposed to provide the optimal treatment coverage and efficiency.

Results

 Production increased from 1100 Bopd to 1400 Bopd.

 Data production was taken after 20 days of the job date, proven the job success.
Picture Legend  PI increase from 2.1 to 2.7 bbl/d/psi
 Customer Value Added: Additional 300 BOPD = 612 M per month
Location: Iraq Challenge: Skin damage Removal  No corrosion1effect within ESP pump
