Interview Questions 

1. What is your current position/job title?

● Elementary principal at Triton

2. What is your education/background?

● Undergrad from Winona state in Education


● Masters at St.Mary's University
● Ed leadership from Walden University

3. Do you have any special skills/experiences relating to Elementary Education?

● Been in the field for 26 years


● 14 have been at Elementary level

4. How can you build a good relationship with students?

● Getting to know who they are, what that like and what their passions are
● Building them up and helping them grow, learning how they work best

5. How did you know teaching was in your future?

● Didn't know about being a principal, but back in third grade teachers changed me helped and me when I
struggled
● Became a principal because I wanted to help teachers teach, I had a bad principal when I was younger
that did not understand, so I wanted to be the change

6. What is the best and worst of your job?

● Best part is making a difference in students lives, and the funny things they say or do
● Worst part is working with parents who do not support the school

7. What or who helped you get to where you are today?


● As a principal, Michelle Crow, assistant at Owatonna Public School, helped with a lot
● Mr. Cook, made me look at children from a different view

8. What is the biggest thing you want your students to take with them as they continue to grow?

● Want them to be respectful citizens, and want them to give back to the world, as long as they are
hardworking

9. What was college like for you going into Education?

● Math major, then English, then Phy Ed, my grandma helped me realize why I don’t focus on Elementary
to get a variety because I would be bored if I had to teach the same thing everyday

10. Do you have any advice for someone interested in this career?

● Have to love kids, for everything


● There are going to be hard times, but kids can and do change
● Remember the little things and how you impact kids
● It is the best feeling when graduated kids tell you how you have impacted their life
