1. System Platform
This NVR software only support Windows XP Professional 32bit & Windows 7 Professional 32/64bit
operating system and above, other OS (Windows 98/Me/Vista/2000/NT/Server2003) and lower versions
(WIN XP or WIN7 Starter/Home/Home Premium) are not supported.

2. INSTALL & UNINSTALL
2.1 Setup
When you get the NVR software, it can be a compressed RAR file from download or an EXE file from
CD/Flash memory.
(Note: The demonstration platform of the following screens is in Windows 7 Pro 64 bit English.)

1. Decompress from RAR

Use WinRAR or any RAR format compatible decompress software to unpack the setup file.

After decompressed, you can see the EXE setup file. Please turn off your all other software (i.e.
firewall and anti-virus) before you run the installation.

2. Install

Double click the EXE setup file. Again, please turn off your all other software (i.e. firewall and
anti-virus) before you run the installation.

Click "Yes" to continue the setup.

Click "Next" to continue the setup.

Select folder to install the NVR software, and click "Install" to continue the setup.

The installation process will takes some minutes. You may click "Show details" to see the
processing items.

To using some advanced controls, it needs some plug-ins. The software will install them too.

After few minutes, the whole process is finished. Please select "Reboot now" and click "Finish"
to reboot the system.

After reboot, you can see the software "NVR_Pro" insides the programs.

2.2 Uninstall

If there is any new version comes up, you may need to uninstall old version from your system. The
following steps are the process for NVR software uninstall. Please turn off your all software
(including NVR) before you do the un-installation.

Go "Control Panel", then you can see the "Programs" and click "Uninstall a program".

Some "Control Panel" looks like this. Please click "Uninstall a program".

Please find out the NVR software " NVR Pro", and click "Uninstall/Change".

You may also use the "Uninstall" from the programs.

Please click "Yes" to continue the uninstall.

The system will uninstall the plug-ins.

The uninstall process will takes some minutes. You may click "Show details" to see more
information.

After all of the process finished. The NVR software "NVR_Pro" is no longer in the programs. You
may install the new version if needed.

3. OPERATING
3.1 Run the software

Run "NVR_Pro" from the programs.

You may also click the "NVR_Pro" icon from the desktop.

Type in login account and password under this textbox. You may change the account name and
password in "User Manager" after login.

The default value is:


User Name: admin
Password: 9999

Start-up operating screen will be as this, it is called "Main Screen". No matter your log-in identity
is an ordinary users or an administrator. If this software was newly installed or no camera
connected, the screen will not like the above.

3. Screen Matrix
To select the size of camera screen matrix.
It provides six types of matrix: 1x1 / 2x2 / 3x3 / 4x4 / 5x5 / 6x6 / 1+5 / 2+8 / 1+16 / 2+17.
The maximum screen number is 36, that is 6x6.

4. Language
To select the operating interface language of the NVR software.
It provides four languages: Traditional Chinese / Simplified Chinese / Japanese / English.

5. Time & Date


Displaying the current time and date of this system.

6. Screen Group
The list of screen groups.

7. Indicator & Quick Buttons


Camera in Recording (OFF / ON) Indicates the recording is ON or OFF.

OSD (On Screen Display) Show the OSD information of camera.

PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) Adjust the setting of PTZ functions.

Snapshot Take a snapshot picture of displaying screen.

Full Screen Show full screen of displaying screen.

8. HDD Space
The available HDD (hard disk drives) storage space and expected recording days of this PC
system.

3.3 Device Manager
Device Manager is the tool for camera management. If this is the first time to use this software in
this PC system, you have no any file to playback. So, you have to setting up a new camera and
recording some videos for playback later. You can add a new camera to the system as following
steps.

1. In "Setting Menu", Click the "Device Manager", then you can see the Device Manager
Window. Click "Add" to add a new camera. If you already have any camera in this system and
want to change some settings, just click "Modify". Or, click "Delete" if you want to remove it.

2. In the "Add IP Camera Data", select the correct camera module (model) of your new one. You
may also use the "Select Finder" and click the "Search" to searching new one for you.

3. After new model selected, click "Next" to setting the details of this new camera. Setting screen
is as below. The "Detail Data" setting page is for camera IP address and so on. The
"Location" is the location (site) name of this new camera. (You may type "Camera01" to
represent camera 01) The "IP" is the IP address of this new camera. The "Port" is for internet
protocol port, typical value is "80". The "Account" is the camera setting account name. And,
the "Password" is the camera setting password. The "Priority Administration" is to set user
authority of this camera.

4. Setting page of "Video Detail" is for camera video and so on. The "CODEC" is compression
CODEC of this new camera. Typically, H.264/MPEG-4/M-JPEG are the available CODECs for
selection. The "Screen Size" is the video screen size of this new camera. The "Quality" is the
video quality of this new camera. You may adjust the "Saturation/Contrast/Brightness/Hue"
to modify the visual results. And, the "Main Video Port" is the main video stream "Transfer
Type" (transmission protocol) of this camera. Enable the "Multi Streaming Setting" can set
sub-video setting and its stream transmission protocol.

5. Setting page of "Motion Setting" is for camera motion detection. Enable the "Enable Motion"
can make this camera record video by motion detection. After enabled, you may set the
"Sensitivity" (motion sensitivity) level of this camera.

6. Setting page of "Record Mode" is for video record mode and scheduling of this camera.
Enable the "Motion Recording" and/or "Event Recording" can make this camera record
video by motion and/or event. After enabled, you may set the "Pre-record" (record the video
before the alert) and "Post-record" (record the video after the alert) time period level this
camera.

7. For the "Schedule Record", there are three mode of this setting: "Watch Only"(No recording),
"Always Record"(Keep recording), and "Schedule Record"(By schedule). Select to the
"Schedule Record" can make this camera record video by your schedule. After selected, you
may set the "Schedule Setting" (record the video in weekly schedule) and the "Record
Length" (the time period for each record interval, it means how long of the time for each video
file) of this camera. Because of the system stability, it is only allowed for 1/2/3/4/5 minutes in
Record Length.

8. After the IP camera setting finished. Please click "Save" to apply all of the settings. Then, the
confirm dialog box will pop-up. Just click "Yes" to apply all of the settings.

9. Please close the "Device Manager" window to go back to the Main Screen. If you need to add
another camera, please do these procedures again.

3.4 Screen Group Manager
Screen Group Manager is the tool for camera screen groups’ management. For the first time to
use this software, you have no any group to watch. So, you have to setting up a new screen group
to organize the installed cameras. You can add a new screen group as following steps.

1. In "Setting Menu", Click the "Screen Group Manager", then you can see the Screen
Group Manager Window. Click "Add" to add a new group. If you already have any group in
this system and want to change some settings, just click "Modify". Or, click "Delete" if you
want to remove it.

2. In the Screen Group setting window, you can choose the cameras that already installed and
connected to PC system. And give it a name in "Group Name" for this screen group. (for
example: Office) You can also use the "Default Screen Mode" to set the default screen matrix
size (i.e. 3x3) while you switch to this group.

3. After the screen group setting finished. Please click "Save" to apply all of the settings. Then,
the confirm dialog box will pop-up. Just click "Yes" to apply all of the settings.

4. You can see the "Screen Group Manager" window has this new group in the list. (The name
called "Office")

5. If you have any new camera to add into this group. The setting window will looks like this.

6. After the screen group modification finished. Please click "Save" to apply all of the settings.
Then, the confirm dialog box will pop-up. Just click "Yes" to apply all of the settings.

7. Please close the "Screen Group Manager" window to go back to the Main Screen. You can
see the cameras list of the screen group now.

3.5 Play Back System
Play Back System is the video player for recorded video files. For the first time to use this software,
you have no any group to watch. If this is the first time to use this software in this PC system, you
have no any file to playback. So, you have to setting up a new camera and a screen group to
record some video clips.

1. Select the camera channel


Before you get into the player, the system will ask you to select the camera channel that you
want to play back. The screen is as below.
Note: For your system stability, please do no select too many (more than 4) camera channels.

2. Player Window
After the playback channel selected, you can see the player window.

The function buttons of the control bar are:
Close Playback System Close the playback system.

Select and Open Select and Open the video file to playback.
Synchronization Enable/Disable the playback synchronization
Save Video File (Not available in this version)
Time Bar Indicate the time now of total file.
Jump to pre-video file Jump to previous segment of the video.

Skip Back Skip the backward playing.

Rewind Video Rewind the video playing.

Stop Video Stop the video playing.

Pause Video Pause the video playing.

Play Video Play the video.

Step-by-step Step forward the video playing.

Skip Forward Skip the forward playing.

Jump to next file Jump to next segment of the video.

Snapshot Take a snapshot picture of playing screen.

Date & Time The date and time of playing video.

4. Play Back Time Slot
After click the "Open" button, the "Play Back Time Slot" window will pop-up. You may select
by date and time of the recorded video file that already in your PC system. Whenever the
video date and time was selected, click "OK/YES" to playback it.

3.6 Scrolling
Scrolling is to arrange the screen matrix of displaying cameras.

Just click "Scrolling", then you can see the arrangement of screen matrix will go different.
Please switch the arrangements as you like. The example below are some screens (not the whole
screens) of the arrangements of one 4x4 screen matrix.

3.7 Event Manager
Event Manager is for reading, releasing, and searching the alert events of this system.

Just click "Event Manager", then you can see the Alert Report System Window. There are
some pages of it, including "Occur Alert List", "Released Alert List", and "History Alert List".

3.8 HD Manager
HD Manger is to handling the system setting backup / restore, and the save paths of HD (hard
drives or hard disc).

Just click "HD Manager", then you can see the Storage Manager Window. The "Input
System Setting" button is for importing the system setting file to restore your previous system
environment. The "Output System Setting" button is for exporting the system settings to backup
your system environment now. The "Save Path List" is to showing all the folders for saving your
recording files. You may add another folder, or delete the folders you do not need. And, there are
two recording modes to select: "Continuous Recording" and "Cycling Recording". Continuous
mode is recording file to all of your system hard drives. If the free space is full, it will not record any
new file. For cycling recording, it will delete the oldest file which in your system hard drives and
replaced with newest one.

Note: The default C:\XXXXX and D:\XXXXX folders are made by the NVR software. If you are not
very sure about the system folders and HD settings, please do not delete them in any case.
Otherwise, your recorded video files will be disappeared!!! Besides the folder paths, the folder
name of these can ONLY use numbers and English alphabetic. NO any other non-English
character (i.e. Chinese character) is allowed to be the folder name.

When you backup and restore your system settings. The pop-up windows are as below. Default
file name for this NVR system is "NVR_DB.ndb".

3.9 Map Manager
Map Manger is for showing the system setting in your geographic areas.

Just click "Map Manager", then you can see the Map Manager Window. The default map is
a world map. You can add the sub-map location as you like.

The following steps are the example for add the sub-map and camera location. You may prepare
your own map, such as floor plan of your office.

1. Move your mouse to one location and click the right-button. Select "Add a sub-map at this
location" to add a sub-map.

2. In the "Add Map System" window, select the map picture that you prepared. Please give it a
"Map Name" (for example: Office) and click "Add".

3. Just like general windows user interface, go the folder and find out the picture for sub-map.

4. Then, you can see the sub-map picture. If this is what you want, please click "Next".

5. In the left-side, you can see the name of sub-map. For now, just move your mouse to one
location and click the right-button. Select "Add a camera at this location" to add a camera
location on this sub-map.

6. In the "Add the site of IP Camera for map" window, select the camera that already
connected on this NVR system.

7. As you see, the camera at this location was shown on the sub-map.

8. If you want to watch the video of this camera, just move your mouse to it and click the
right-button. Select "Show the image from the camera" to show the video of this camera at
the location. After this, the video screen of the camera will come up.

9. If you want to delete this camera location, just move your mouse to it and click the right-button.
Select "Delete the connection of the camera" to remove this camera location from the
sub-map. Please click "Yes" to confirm it in the coming window.

3.10 User Manager
User Manger is for user authority and identification management.

Just click "User Manager", then you can see the NVR User Management System Window.
There are two pages for user authority and identification setting. You may use "User
Management" and "Assign Data Management" to setting the authority and manage the
identification of users.

In the "User Management", you may manage the user identification. For change account name
and password, just type in new name and password then save it. Please write your new account
name and password down before you change. You can also add new user and define its authority.

Note: If you have only one user account in this system, and you forget account name and
password for login. The ONLY way to solve it is re-install this software again!!

In the "Assign Data Management", the default authority setting of "Administrator" is as below.

In the "Assign Data Management", you may add new level of user (i.e. Guard).

3.11 Logout
Logout button is for log-out this NVR system, or want to log-in with different identification.

Just click the "Logout", then you can see the NVR system has log-out. And, you can log-in
to NVR are system when you need.
