Chapter I

Introduction

Work immersion is a key feature in the Senior High School curriculum and

refers to the part of that consists of 80 hours of hands-on experience which Grade

12 students will undergo to expose them to the actual work setting and to enrich

the competencies provided by the school and refers to the subject of the Senior

High School Curriculum, which involves work simulation in which learners can

apply their competencies and acquired knowledge relevant to their track.

Immersion students typically develop greater cognitive flexibility, demonstrating

increased attention control, better memory, and superior problem solving skills as

well as an enhanced understanding of their primary language. The basic role is to

engage the worker in the performance evaluation process and open

communication channels for performance related issues. Immersion student need

a Socialization to obtain a successful work immersion, school is an important

source of socialization for students of all ages. In class, young people receive

guidelines related to behavior, authority, schedules, tasks, and deadlines.

Teaching this content requires social interaction between educators and students.

Typically, rules and expectations are both written and spoken, and student

conduct is either rewarded or penalized. As this occurs, students learn behavioral

norms suitable for school.

Objectives

To determine the profile of the student in terms of gender, civil status, age and

status as a student.

To know the impact of work immersion on the students

To help and give recommendation to enhance work immersion practices.

Scope and Delimitations

This research in titled ‘Evaluation of work immersion of grade 12 students

of SLTCFI`` will focus on evaluation of work immersion of all grade 12 Students

of SLTCFI, students that did not finish or did no attend their work immersion are

not belong to this research.

Significant of the Study

This study aim to help others. The following are the target beneficiaries of

this study.

STUDENTS- being students, there is alot of responsibilities, so students

from senior high school of southern luzon technological college foundation inc. will

benefit from this study especially to those students experiencing work immersion

that required by the school. It will helps the student on how can they handle there

diffities in there work immersion.

TEACHER- The teacher are also part of the target beneficiary of this study .

this study will be helpful to the teachers, to guide there students and explain to

them and evaluate what they will experience in work immersion.

PARENTS- Parents or guardians are one who are always at their side to

hear there what difficulty they experience encounter in work immersion and give

them advice and encourage them.

Parents will be benefits in this study to understand there children's good or

bad experience in work immersion.

RESEARCHER- This study will greatly help the researchers including

ourselves by improving our knowledge about difficulties and good experience in

work place/work immersion.

FUTURE RESEARCHERS- It will help the future researchers that who are

studying the same topic as their reference in getting information that can support

their study.though this research paper they can evaluate yhe findings of the

researchers that may result related to their closer topic that strengthen their study.

According to Valdez (2010), the curriculum may continue to revisit

periodically to align the skills needed by the industry. The curriculum should be

designed to preparethe graduates and demonstrate the core competencies

expected of them in the workplace. On-the-job training is the best method as it is

economical, simple, and effective and everybody can do it. It doesn’t need wide

ranging budgets, complex training courses, devoted training staffs or absence

from the workplace. Its effectiveness can be significantly enhanced by applying a

methodical approach based on the UKEssay. Rendering to this, “Importantly, each

on-the-job model has its own merits and weaknesses but they all serve the same

purpose of providing the trainees with the opportunity to “practice and learn by

doing”, they added. UkEssays’ researchers relate this to Confucius’ perception; “if

all I do is hear, I will forget. If I hear and see, I will remember. If I hear, see and

do, I will understand.” Furthermore, at the individual level, on the job training for

students is aimed to increase the employability of graduates in the labor market.

They will gain new occupational skills and advance. It is much closer to the

increasing adoptability capacityof the labor force. So, this instrument helps to

constitute main target of public policy in order to decrease unemployment among

graduates. Beside this, on the job training can be away to find the first job for

graduates. Finally, Turkey must encourage and give priorityto investment on job

training for increasing employability and adoptability of graduates.(Professor Dr.

Kuzgun).

To achieve greater congruence between basic education and the nation’s

development targets, Work Immersion, a required subject, has been incorporated

into the curriculum. This subject will provide learners with opportunities: to become

familiar with the work place; for employment simulation; and to apply their

competencies in areas of specialization/applied subjects in authentic work

environments. To achieve the said objectives, Work immersion is thus a

requirement for graduation from secondary education. Learners are immersed in

actual work environments such as workshops offices and laboratories in which

their prior training is relevant. (DepEd Order No. 30 S. 2017) Wood & Bandura

(1989) as cited in Machmud (2018) states that perception in completing a job is

self-efficacy. Moreover, self-efficacy relates to someone's confidence in achieving

his/her duties in uncertainty. While Bandura (1997) as cited in Domenech-Betoret

et al. (2017) defined self-efficacy as “an individual’s belief in his or her own ability

to organize and implement action to produce the desired achievements and

results”. Self-efficacy is one’s faith in accomplishing task successfully. Learners

automatically adjust and adopt the new environment they are in for them to finish

the immersion program while developing their efficiency. The study was

conducted to identify the level of self-efficacy and work immersion satisfaction and

determine the degree of their relationship. The result of the study could help in

collaboration with the school head and administration for them to generate

innovations or strategic design for Continuous Improvement Plan that would serve

as one of the best practices of the school.

Theoretical Frame Work
Conceptual Framework

This conceptual framework elaborates the attention of our study by means of

preventing sub-problems relate to our topic. This paper show the evaluation of

work immersion of the grade 12 student of SLTCFI Legaspi.

In our conceptual paradigm, it show the process on how student enhance work

effectiveness. On the bottom of the arrow is the title « evaluation of work

immersion of grade 12 student of SLTCFI Legaspi, then the next is know the profile

of the student? After that is knowing the impact of work immersion to grade 12

student? And the last one is the researchers will give appropreite recommendatio

to the student to enhance the work effectiveness of the student.

instrument answer`s the questions of who are the respondents of this study and

to identify the impact of evaluation of the work immersion of grade 12 student of

SLTCFI. In terms of personal development, socialization, time management and

attitude, perspective in life of this student of SLTCFI. This paper also find out the

best strategy and the possible recommendation to enhance the work effectiveness

of the student.
Respondents of the study

The respondents of this study where the grade 12 students of SLTCFI to

achieve the main goal of the researches. Researchers will give questioners to the

respondents who are the grade 12 students of SLTCFI. The researchers will make

sure that all date gathered from the respondents are secure for their rights and to

avoid embarrassment.
