“El Tephé”

“El Thepé” is an aquatic park set in Hidalgo State. The place where the park is stablished consists of
a passage full of thermal waters parks. In El Tephé different kind of swimming pools have been
built. One of my favorites is the waves pool, where you can dive in feeling the waves like being in
the ocean. Other popular attractions are the pools with curled up slides, in order to get access to it
the stairs must be walked up but don’t worry, at the end the adrenaline shot pays off when you get
into the warm water!!

If you want more adrenaline, you can visit the go-down-slide. You must lie facing downwards at the
top of the slide where the water runs down and when you feel ready you just let your body slip
until the end. It is a great adventure to take, fortunately you can try it as many times as you wish.

In the main pool you can enjoy the stunning pouring geyser. Additionally, it has artificial waterfalls,
whose some are designed like rocky cliffs and others were funnily created as huge fungi that size
three times the height of an ordinary person.

If you have any friend living in Hidalgo, you can crash at their place or you can make a hotel
reservation near the park. If you want to stay in the park and enjoy it all day long arriving early is
needed to get a room, the reason is that you cannot make a reservation in advance. Hotel rooms
can be paid starting from $600 to $1, 500 pesos.

If you want to travel to this amazing place, and you think you need a privet vehicle, let me tell you
that you needn’t it. You can start your journey in “La Central de Autobuses del Norte”. You can
acquire your tickets in Omnibus Company and you have to inform to the front desk clerk that you
want a direct travel to “El Tephé”. Showing your ID and paying a fee of $180 pesos per person is
required. Even though you cannot get a student discount, you are left in front of the main
entrance of the park so you can save some money for transportation. Furthermore, you just have
to cross the highway to get into the small office where return tickets can be bought every hour!!
