How to use Furosemide (Lasix)

The first one, we should read the label or doctor’s instruction. Indication of Lasix is used to treat fluid
retention (edema) in people with congestive heart failure, liver disease, or a kidney disorder such as
nephrotic syndrome. Lasix is also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). The
contraindication is for certain liver and kidney problems, no production or no passing of urine, low
blood pressure (hypotension), dehydration. Nest step we should see the dose of Lasix exactly as
prescribed by doctor. Lasix tablets are taken once or twice a day. Lasix tablets on an empty stomach,
Lasix tablets at about the same time each day unless your doctor tells you otherwise. If your doctor
prescribes Lasix to be taken once a day, it is best done in the morning,before breakfast. If you are
taking Lasix more than once a day, take your first dose immediately before breakfast and take your
last dose around 2:00 pm (on an empty stomach). The side effect are allergic reaction (difficult
breathing, swelling in your face or throat) or a severe skin reaction (fever, sore throat, red or purple
skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling).
